Description: Situated in the picturesque village of Tayvallich on the shores of Loch Sween, the Inn overlooks the beautiful natural harbour of Tayvallich bay. At the heart of this small and vibrant community, the Tayvallich Inn has always been a popular meeting place for sailors, holidaymakers, more recently kayakers and all who enjoy our warm hospitality and good food. Established over 30 years ago, the Tayvallich Inn specialises in fresh, locally caught seafood, much of which is landed on our doorstep from the cold, pristine waters of the sound of Jura. Along with seafood we serve other fresh produce, sourcing locally where ever possible.

“Fantastic Fresh Seafood”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 10, 2012

We are regular visitors to this fantastic west coast village. My wife and i first visted a number of years ago and now the whole family meet up at least once a year. The highlight of the holiday is always the meal at the Tayvallich Inn. I have had nearly every dish over the years and have never been disappointed once. The staff are very friendly and no matter how busy it gets they never seem flustered and are always patient and attentive.

I love sitting at the outside tables on a warm summer night looking over the harbour or on a cold Autumn night the window table in the restuarant offers the same fantastic views.

I agree with a previous reviewer that it is not really a pub for drinking in but on a nice night you can take your drinks outside where there is ample seating including picnic tables and benches across the road.

A must for anybody staying in this area. You will not be disappointed

“The best fish and chips EVER!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2012

Had the pleasure of dining here with family as we were staying in the village for the weekend.
I have to say that the locally caught haddock was beautiful.....by far the best fish and chip dish I have ever had!!!
The village itself is lovely and the people are friendly.....definately the place to go to get away from it all.......simply stunning all round :-)

“Popular for mussels.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 26, 2011

Friendly staff and very clean but not really a pub in the traditional sense but OK for a few hours at the bar. Only ate on one occasion and wasn't overly impressed but observed people coming in daily for the mussels. I had Haddock which was decent but small and served with a small handful of bagged salad and frozen chips. My boys had burgers and they were good quality in a ciabatta roll. Friendly place but unless I became a seafood lover would probably give it a miss.

“Excellent Lunch with Friendly Service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2011

We arrived for a late lunch mid week and had one of the best meals of our stay in Argyle. Not only was the food excellent, it was delivered by very friendly service. We were warmly greeted when we came in - something which we rarely encountered in several other eating establishments. The restaurant/bar is child-friendly with a separate childrens menu, the atmosphere was relaxed and informal and there is a daily specials board in addition to the main menu. The view from the window across the loch is delightful regardless of the weather!
We ate mussels, prawns, scallops and 'fish & chips' washed down by a nice glass of house red. All in all, a very enjoyable lunch. Should definitely be on your 'to do' list if in this part of Argyle!

“Fantastic welcoming place with lovely food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2011

Not everywhere copes well when two scruffy tourists turn up with a hawk and want feeding. Tayvallich inn made us very welcome, and the food was fantastic. We ate there on two nights. The cajun chicken is deelish, the steak is marvellous, and the seafood was excellent. The service in the bar was delightfully relaxed and informal, and the staff were really friendly. This isn't a cheap place for a snack, but for quality at a fair price it is spot on.
