Description: Situated in the picturesque village of Tayvallich on the shores of Loch Sween, the Inn overlooks the beautiful natural harbour of Tayvallich bay. At the heart of this small and vibrant community, the Tayvallich Inn has always been a popular meeting place for sailors, holidaymakers, more recently kayakers and all who enjoy our warm hospitality and good food. Established over 30 years ago, the Tayvallich Inn specialises in fresh, locally caught seafood, much of which is landed on our doorstep from the cold, pristine waters of the sound of Jura. Along with seafood we serve other fresh produce, sourcing locally where ever possible.

As we were staying on the other side of Loch Sween this was a must to get some food while over that way. We were so lucky to have fab weather for most of the week. So the afternoon we sat outside for food was lovely. The view was just like their web pic with the boats in the bay.
I had a cold Guinness which was an ok pint. And chose the Tarbert Haddock fillet in batter that comes with chips salad/ and a nice fresh coleslaw, about £8.95. My hubby had the burger and chips and salad, £7.95.
Waiting time didn't feel too long, just about as long as it takes to deep fry fish. The man that was serving was a friendly and attentive guy. Both meals were very tasty. I would class it as good pub grub at a good price. They do have a specials board with more expensive select meals i.e. lobster. One slight disappointment is the Inn didn't look very pub like.
Will definitely go again when we plan to stay next year in May. Will save up so we can maybe go for the Seafood platter for two. ( Just checked on their web page £34.95).
There is a lovely bay on the west coast behind Tayvallich worth a look.

Myself and my partner took a trip to this little village (on Tripadvisor's recommendation) and we were pleasantly surprised. It is a beautiful village, very relaxed and the view is stunning. The Tayvallich Inn made us feel welcome immediately and provided us with fresh, tasty food and recommendations for local walks. The menu is fab and we would have love to have gone back for an evening meal (if only we had the time during the trip).

Excelent meal and friendly service. Both the haddock and the scallops were first class. We usually pay a visit each summer when we are in the area. The lovely natural harbour is in my view one of the nicest on the West Coast. We always finish by going over to Carsaig Bay, about a mile away, to watch the sunset over Jura

This place is really a pub, with a bar on the left, with some tables, & to the right a small restaurant. The seafood is really good, over a number of nights we had some great food.
The place can get really busy, so sometimes there is a long wait for you food.
the place is clean, people are nice.

Excellent service and hospitality from" Iain" whom I think is in a managerial position. I believe he had provided the fantastic weather. In the evening a young man called "Lars" took over, again the service was excellent and for one so young he had no difficulty in conversation with a couple of old Fa**`s like us.
