Arrived for our wee break - Callum greeted us , gave us a tour and took us to our mega lodge - 2 kids bursting with excitement. Wow!! Lodge was fantastic, cosy, clean and had all the requirements you would need - tv - kettle - fridge - microwave. The lodge had loads of room for us and our 2 kids, beds were comfy - overall just a great place to set up camp in a superb location . The facilities in the hostel were fab - the cleanliness was of a very high standard. -- We had a great break and will def be returning soon, thank you Callum and staff see you soon. Don

My husband and I and our two kids (age 6 and 3) stayed in one of the mega lodges at the picturesque Blackwater Hostel for the first time. We were warmly greeted by Callum, who gave us a tour of the facilities and escorted us to our mega lodge, so friendly. The Pod is a new bigger version of the micro lodge with a real scandanavian feel and the kids absolutely loved it. For a non camper (me!) it really had all the home comforts you needed, fridge, kettle, microwave and TV, (we didn,t need to use the heater) Plenty of space for us all and really comfy beds (just bring your sleeping bag or bed linen), All of the facilities in the hostel were also really clean, kitchen, showers and toilets. Patrick the Manager was also really friendly and helpful. These lodges are great value family accommodation in beautiful surroundings, what more could you ask for! We will definitely be back, thanks so much for your great hospitality.

Room Tip: Take a big bottle for water for making your morning coffee in the luxury of your Pod,. otherwise ev...

We had a one night stay in a microlodge and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hobbits are brilliant, the two people ones are small but complete with fridge, microwave, kettle and tv! All you need for a night or two.

Everything was very clean, facilities great and service very good. Will definitely be back

Stayed in this amazing hostel with a big group of friends and I really can't fault it. The place is in an excellent location, only a few minutes walk from town in one direction and another few minutes to a number of hiking trails in the other direction. The scenery is just fantastic, and the little town has everything you need. The owner was great, very helpful and gave us lots of insiders tips about places to go and see (we spent an afternoon jumping off a bridge into the river from his reccomendations - great fun!).

The hostel itself was great, every room is ensuite which we weren't expecting, and bedding is provided for you. The windows also have black out blinds which is good for summer nights this far up North when the sun comes up in the middle of the night! The common area and kitchen are big and well equipped, with a pool table and a big TV.

All in all I've got nothing but good things to say about this place, we spent 3 nights here, got great weather for the most part and spent the days hiking and running up the numerous mountains around Kinlochleven. Great experience!

Stayed here while doing the West Highland Way and it suited us perfectly as it was right on the way. The owner, Calum, was really friendly and welcoming. Had hot water and wifi and could easily walk to a bar - everything we needed! Would definitely stay here again if in this area.
