We cannot praise Julie and Jamie enough for their care, hospitality and friendliness!!! They made us feel SO very welcome even inviting us to the "Hog Roast" they were hosting the week-end we were there, and what lovely people we met! So very friendly.

They are both 101% percent committed to providing extra-special accommodation and food and knowledge about all that can be done in the area! Breakfast was served in a wonderful airy bright room with wonderful views and lots of wild birds..oh and don't forget the resident woodpecker! Lots of fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal oh and don't forget the home cured bacon and sausages from organic happy home grown pigs...also the free range chickens! A real feast for the senses in every way.

The en suite bedroom was quite luxurious, with lovely soft towels, organic toiletries and crisp clean bedding....oh and you get a very good night's sleep too thrown in! Lovely view of the Loch from the bedroom with terraced garden ...The whole place is testimony to the skill and talents of them both!

If you are looking for peace and quiet and tranquility then this is the place to come! You couldn't wish for better hosts!

If you favour the great outdoors like we do then there is lots to do and see in the area...i.e.,climbing in Glen Coe...or maybe just walking, visiting the Island of Seil with Easdale, the latter is most interesting: no cars on Easdale! Also the Island of Kerrera, just off the coast near Oban is a gem, totally unspoilt, no roads just a track around the Island, with magnificent views across to Mull!

This is a real treasure...you have to see it and experience it to believe it! The perfect honeymoon place if you like to be outdoors with lots of peace and quiet thrown in!

What a charming B&B this is - and so are hosts Julie and Jamie! We were looked after very well and both went out of their way to help out and answer our questions about local arrangements and facilities.
Bed extremely comfortable with excellent quality (White Stuff) towels and bedding. Toiletries were also excellent and sourced locally.
Julie is a very good cook and works with very fine ingredients - breakfasts were fab with home cured bacon and home made sausages and bread; dinner the evening we had it was very good too.
The B&B is set in a beautiful location and you won't be disappointed. It is quite remote though, which suited us fine!

Room Tip: Both rooms are lovely!

First of all I would say that if you plan to do a trip where you are staying in a couple of different bed and breakfasts, make sure you stay in Collaig House last. No other bed and breakfast can live up to this one!
Julie and Jamie are the most welcoming hosts and made us feel so welcome in their beautiful home.
The grounds of the house and the views are absolutely breathtaking and the comfort inside the home is out of this world.
Our son was particularly fond if the family pet, Ebony and loved to play with her every day.
Julie and Jamie were so accomodating in letting us use their fridge and kitchen and invited us to share their living area while our son was sleeping upstairs.
We loved everything about our room and our private bathroom had underfloor heating - it was just luxury!
We stayed here for 4 nights and were never short of things to do. The location was perfect - totally tranquil but still close enough to restaurants and towns/villages and tourist attractions.
If you stay here be sure to dine with Julie and Jamie, who provide evening meals if you wish - the food is spectacular. The dinner Julie cooked for us was the best I tasted the whole trip. It was 5 star quality! The breakfasts were the same. The eggs are all free range, which our son enjoyed collecting in the morning. The bacon and sausages are all from the pigs that are kept there, with all high quality meat in the sausages making them the nicest we have ever tasted and made by Jamie himself. It was lovely too to sit at the same breakfast table as the guests from the other bedroom and chat to different people.
Overall we cannot say enough about this beautiful home and will definately be back.

The house and our room was beautiful - even though the bedroom was not en suite, not a problem as you had exclusive use of a gorgeous bathroom right next door. Lovely linen and touches like the shortbread in the room and tea & cake on arrival. Breakfast was lovely with good choices and delicious fruit salad, in a room with great views of the landscape and birds (including the woodpecker family).

The slight negatives for us were that a pub meal was a 16 mile round trip (the local inn 2 miles away wasn't recommended) and also that there is no lounge facility to relax in. It was a particularly wet weekend and after being out for food, we spent the rest of our evenings in our room (with one chair!). You can arrange for an evening meal there, but we didn't give enough notice so had to drive out both nights.

Also, you cannot really just go hiking/walking from the door ... you need to drive somewhere ... but there are lovely walks around.

This is a beautiful comfortable place, but if you want to arrive then forget about the car (as I prefer to do!), this wasn't ideal for us.

Many thanks for your kind words regarding the hospitality you recieved at Collaig,I would just like to respond to your comments regarding dining at Collaig, as although you had not prebooked dinner, on arrival when discussing dining options I did say as I was cooking that evening for my other guests would you like to join them for dinner however you declined this offer, requesting a meal on Sunday, due to a long standing arrangement I could not cook on Sunday.
I explained that we do not have a guest lounge but did say call in on your return to join the guests in the dining room however you did call in.
We do at all times do our best to meet individuals needs and regret that the evening you wished to dine I could not accomadate you.

Everything was spot on. The room and breakfast room have the most amazing views, and are decorated to a very high standard. Jamie and Julie made us feel very welcome, and we had a lovley evening meal here too. There's also a beautiful self catering brye, which we'd definatley come back to if we can make up a group next time.

Between them Julie & Jamie have this whole guest house malarky sussed ! - The accomodation in their beautiful home was warm, welcoming and stylish. For me it's all in the detail eg from the organic heavenly bathroom products to Jamie's home-made sausages and Julie's perfectly poached (just from the hen) eggs.

I stayed with my dog who was made very welcome and found himself a bit too friendly with their gorgeous black lab Ebony. The surrounding gardens and luxury self-catering byre (built by Jamie ) are too evidence that with sheer hard work and good planning this wee place up a hill in Argyll will become a must-visit destination.

Nothing is too much trouble for these guys - and they also have that local knowledge on where to eat/walk/visit etc too which beats any guide book.

I plan a return place to this little Argyll escape very soon.

PS. the sleep quality was 4/5 as I just couldn't get use to the owls (used to traffic !!)

PPS - did I mention the home-made shortbread in the room !!
