“Wedding”
Reviewed January 12, 2017 for a stay in August 2016

My son and daughter in law chose this beautiful house for their wedding . The house offered a spacious gorgeous house . The ceremony was on the beautiful lawn area ,the dinner was in sun room which then became a dance floor . The staff was outstanding and meet our every need . The house is well suited and has private salons plus big gathering places . The men loved the separate bar area and wonen loved kitchen area with its fireplace . I had 7 grandchildren and they loved playing in huge lawn . The house is well situated close enough to some small villages which we loved going to .

“Blissful luxury in stunning surroundings”
Reviewed March 18, 2016 for a stay in September 2015

We visited Balinakill as a party of friends with young kids. It is the perfect venue to host a number of families as there is plenty of space indoors and outdoors. The grounds are stunning and ideal for the kids to run off any excess energy. Whilst the main draw is the house, a beautiful country house that feels like your own Scottish castle. There are some great public areas, an elegant but cosy panelled drawing room which is delightful to lounge in after a brisk walk, complete with roaring fire. But our favourite room was the Bar, my husband loved playing bartender. The bedrooms are magnificent and grand whilst there is also a lovely upstairs lounge with great views. There are so many things you can do whilst staying at Balinakill House. A beach that could rival any in the Caribbean is 30 mins walk away, worth packing a picnic and some towels for paddling. We also took the ferry to Gigha for the day. The kids loved the boat and it was short walk to a pub on the beach for lunch. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Its beautiful and grand but also incredibly welcoming.

“Fabulous family retreat”
Reviewed February 15, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

We have just returned home from an absolutely fantastic weekend at Balinakill House. We hired the house for a group of families to get together and enjoy a break away. 7 families in total, 14 adults, 15 children and 3 dogs and what a fabulous time was had by all! The children ranged from 1-10 and they just loved the house and gardens, lots of hide and seek, ghost tours around the house and tig in the garden! After a few long walks rambling around the gorgeous local scenery we would all come home, light the fires, open the wine and relax while the kids carried on their adventures. Perfect!!!
The house itself is beautiful. All the bedrooms were furnished to a high standard - bedding and towels, bathrooms all immaculate. The nice thing was that each family could have their own bathroom/shower room so there was no queuing or waiting to use the facilities. Also we were able to sleep families in rooms next to each other so if the young children woke up the parents were right next door.
The kitchen was very well equipped. We cooked both nights and found everything we could possibly need and pans large enough to cater for our big group. Enough plates and cutlery for each meal without running out and plenty of room around the dining table so it was a wonderful experience all sitting together and enjoying our meals.
The bar was a big hit - our only regret was not taking a keg of lager instead we filled the fridges with wine, beer and fizz so we were more than happy!
Both lounges were beautifully furnished and felt really luxurious and comfortable. The children seemed to take over the white lounge as the big screen to was in there, while the adults were relaxing downstairs by the fire. The sun room was also a favourite for the kids as they loved playing pool and also singing songs around the piano. We took a karaoke machine with us and some disco lights so the kids had a blast in there.
I'd highly recommend Balinakill House as we had a such a lovely time and I'm most definitely going to plan a return visit for next year, in the summer this time to enjoy the gardens even more.
Many thanks to Ann who was so very helpful with my planning, and Uta the housekeeper who showed us round - nothing was too much for anyone and although we didn't need any extra help, I'm sure they would have gone to great lengths to help us further had we asked.
Can't wait to go back!!!
