The term "hotel" to describe this establishment is somewhat of a misnomer, as it is essentially some rooms above a bar.
The lack of a dedicated reception area gives cause for confusion, as with the lack of dedicated hotel staff - the downstairs bar staff doubling up rolls.
We were not shown to our room, merely directed. The rooms themselves were relatively functional, however cobwebs and dust were visible. The bed was simply uncomfortable, either due to age and/or poor quality.
We ate at the bar in the evening - the food was reasonable but arrived suspiciously quickly and appeared to be microwaved, which was disappointing considering the price.
We ordered red wine and had a bizarre experience where we were told we couldn't have the bottle we ordered as the bar didn't have a corkscrew to open it. They then managed to source a corkscrew, but broke the cork in the bottle while trying to remove it. We then ordered a different (screw top!) bottle, which was served cold, and in a chiller.
I wouldn't return for a second visit, and would advise others to look elsewhere.
