“Good stop”

Good soup and lovely Balmoral bread. Friendly staff. Quite a good view, which was helped by the lying snow. Would call in again.

“A 'Royal' Gem in Braemar”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

Stopped off in Braemar on a sunny winter's day looking for 'coffee and cake' and were not disappointed on finding 'Taste' on the Linn of Dee road. A lovely welcome awaited and a cosy atmosphere with a nice layout of comfy armchairs or tables, a lovely selection of lunch time food on offer and home made mouthwatering cakes on display. Not from Aberdeenshire where 'flour baps' are the bakers norm, (floury soft rolls) they are very much 'a treat', so with a choice of hot or cold fillings on the menu our choice was freshly made to order. Home made Thai soup and a bacon 'bap' swiftly arrived and were absolutely delicious! Given the array of cakes and variety of teas/coffees, it would have been wrong not to imbibe..... A slice of Capuchino Cake to share... And the best 'Flat White' coffee I had tasted since visiting Australia last winter, rounded off a perfect lunch in glorious Deeside. Well worth a visit......

Good coffee, hot chocolate made with milk and great home baking. Perfect place to stop after a local walk or passing through Braemar.

“Best coffee and cakes in Braemar”
Reviewed October 3, 2012

We visited Braemar recently for a long weekend. Happened upon "Taste" on our first day, and never looked back! Good coffee, fantastic homemade cakes (try the Ginger Crackle) and delicious soups and sandwiches for lunch. We took a good look around the town and weren't really tempted to go anywhere else. Relaxed and friendly service - couldn't recommend it highly enough.

“Excellent coffee stop”
Reviewed September 2, 2012

I found Taste by chance having seen the brown signs when exploring the village. What a great find! I had a mocha and pancake with butter and jam. Both were excellent and enjoyed sitting in a comfortable chair with lovely views of the hills. Just what I needed before setting off on a walk round the lovely birch wood a bit further up the road. I will definitely be heading back there next time I am in Braemar.
