“Welcoming, charming and great coffee!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 4, 2013

We visited during a stay at Aultbea. Really lovely, family-friendly welcome from the minute we walked in. And despite being very busy when we arrived the owner attended to us right away and invited us to look in the gallery upstairs whilst he cleared a table. Apart from the cafe the Bridge includes a cracking local artwork and gift shop as well as the most interesting loo(!) in Wester Ross for our 4 year old to visit....which she did...several times...to measure herself on the wall-chart on the door. PS...she's the size of a 'king penguin', I am the 'walrus' (coo-coo coo-choo) and daddy is a 'polar-bear'! Lunch was lovely - great sandwiches and amazing milky coffee. We got the best table in the corner near the fire and the owner entertained our daughter with his 'singing pet lobster' at one point which gave us all a good laugh and really made us feel really welcomed. Lovely, homely place to stop for lunch and will definitely go back next time we're in Poolewe. Would highly recommend for the food and hospitality (and if you want to buy any local arts/craft/gifts). Take cash for the cafe; but cards ok for the giftshop.

“Excellent Cafe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2013 via mobile

Visited here twice while staying near Gairloch. Highly recommended, great home baking, tasty soups and very friendly owners/staff. If you are visiting the NTS inverewe Gardens then eat at the Bridge Cottage Cafe first instead of going to the dreadful NTS cafe.

“Brilliant cafe!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 18, 2013

We visited here in the Easter holidays with our 4 young children, and were all spoilt with delicious home baking, wonderful hot chocolate/marshmallows, and coffee. The savoury muffins were a real treat too! The children were fussed over by the wonderful owners, who couldn't be more welcoming, giving them individually picked animal-themed mugs and matching mats, which the children still talk about! We have been here several times before and will certainly return every time we are in the area. Highly recommended!

“Fantastic cafe and gallery”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2013

What a wonderful find! Yes, it is a small cafe, but this really adds to it's charm. We visited twice during January 2013, whilst on holiday and were made to feel very welcome both times. Lovely warm log burning stove. Fantastic food. The savoury muffins and Lemon Poppy Seed Cake are beyond delicious! Gallery well worth a look - bought 2 super pieces of pottery at a very reasonable price. Definitely worth a visit if yu are in the area.
