If your expecting posh nosh then this isn't the place for you. However! The general quality of venue in Livingston is pretty poor. The choices tend to be poor pub, fast food, or overpriced bar. Beefeater kind of fills the gap.

We live in Livingston and for posh nosh, you are looking to dine out of the town. Beefeater does us hen we are looking for something a bit nicer than the 'up market' fast food outlets (Wagamama, Nandos, etc).

They do a reasonable line in starters - I would recommend the mix for two (£10). The steaks are not Champany quality, but they are decent. Quantities are plenty much - free refills on soft drinks and on chips. Generally we don't do puddings, but the last time we were there we got them free (there was a delay on our meal) so we had some and they were pretty nice.

The kids meals are good and offer a good option for pre-teens. We reckon about £50 for a meal for 4 without booze

I'd recommend it, but with the caveats above.

food took a long time to arrive.
Fish cold and soggy, chips a mixture of warm and cold in a bowl.
And mushy peas like water.
They changed the whole meal, although it came back hot , i really was put off by this point.
my hubbys chips were cold his were changed but by then he had all but eaten his cheap brake bros lasagne.
Never will i return to beefeater pure rubbish.

My girlfriend and I had dinner here with my girlfriend's father who came to visit and was staying at the travellodge next door. It's a very nice place full of families and it was not a bad size either. We ordered our meals however these took a long time to come out..

So if your starving, I'd recommend getting the bus to mcdonalds in livingston.

Food was poor. Service was good. Waitress did her best and was cheerful. Expensive for what we ate. Wouldnt rush back.

Excellent food, no waiting, very friendly staff. Changes to meals like swapping tomatoes for mushrooms etc without a single murder. Credit to waitresses.
