This place has a very nice atmosphere, with swanky furniture and boarded floors the decor really creates a nice impression. The staff are friendly and attentive and there's even an indoor and outdoor kids play area, the indoor one mainly being a ball pool and an Xbox. We didn't get to see the outdoor one, just the signs for it.
The food was very cheap. We got a three course lunch for £7, which you can't really complain at. The food however had a distinctive microwaved feel to it and was lacking in flavour. It was nice enough though, and for the price we really couldn't moan.
Cheap and cheerful food with a posh restaurant feel.

We were at Oscars on Saturday (6th Sept 2012). We have been there a few times before and I don't think we have ever had a bad experience. We did have a little trouble finding a place to park initially. This was partly due to some people taking up 1.5 spaces with their parking which seemed to waste 2-3 spaces. When we went into Oscars it soon became obvious that it was a bust night and this obviously contributed to the limited parking space availability.

However, although it was slighlty noisier than normal the service was quick and efficient and the food arrived quickly and everyone enjoyed their meal.

I'd certainly have no problem recommedning friends and family to eat at Oscars.

My partner and I are both on a gluten and dairy free diet and we visit Oscars all the time because it is one of the very few restaurants in the area that seems to cater for people with food allergies. As can be expected we have to be extremely careful with what we have to eat and Scott and his friendly and helpful staff cannot do enough to meet our dietary requirements. It is always a pleasure to visit and all the times we have been we have never been disappointed yet

This was a last minute choice that could accommodate 4 people.
I eat out as a treat and I expect the food to be better that I could produce at home from a tin or packet - if anything we got served was freshly prepared, I couldn't tell. What we got was the standard fare you get in most pubs at a fraction of the price - at least in the pub you know what to expect!

Perhaps you are getting us confused with another restaurant you visited 5 months ago, all our food at Oscars is freshly prepared on the premises, I'm glad you thought it was reasonable though. See you again soon.

We visited Oscar's today for lunch, having not been there for a while, and following recommendations on this site. Have to say - we were very impressed! Service was exceptionally efficient and friendly. Two courses for £5.95 - amazing value! For starter we had nachos and garlic mushrooms crostini and for main course we had a chicken wrap and mince & tatties. The portions were very generous (we probably didn't need a starter!) and the quality was really first class. The menu choice was really extensive, you could have ordered from the a la carte if you wished but there was a huge variety on the lunch menu. There was also an extensive kids menu, the play area inside is good and if it's been a nice day there's also a play area outside. I have to say, it's somewhere difficult to get something that's decent, home cooked and good value in Livingston - Oscar's is far superior to the processed rubbish that you get in the Centre. We will definitely be back again!
