Four of us arrived on bicycles after a 31.5mile cycle, against a headwind, from North Uist, to Berneray and along the utterly stunning west coast of South Harris. This hotel proved a good and surprising find. Fortunately were were staying two nights! We arrived tired and wet but we were immediately welcomed and shown somewhere dry and secure to store our bikes. This is modern hotel decorated in a 'boutique' style. Our two, twin-bedded rooms, en-suite rooms were good, if a little cramped and we eat well (once in the bar and once in the restaurant). The harbour at Tarbert is not busy or noisy but the comings and goings of the ferry do provide an fun backdrop to the hotel.

We had a de-luxe room - nothing missing. Maybe the bath was a little small for tall people. 2 chairs plus one for the desk!! Mini-bar which is useful as fridge when travelling. Very luxurious. Even bath robes - only thing missing were slippers.
We ate in restaurant so don't know about bar. It is a little pricey and menu limited but excellent food freshly cooked.Vast menu for breakfast. My husband had a full breakfast but I had continental. Croissants not as fresh as they might be but at least they had them. So much more to choose from. Staff were friendly and helpful
convenient location for ferry and whole of harris

We did not stay - only lunched. The meal was ok, nothing more. Service was impersonal and the food mediocre. The wine list is rather limited by the glass. On a positive note, the room is modern and clean, and nicely decorated.

Well appointed rooms, good shower, clean, modern, reasonably spacious room.
A little pricey but at least there is value for the money.

There is a restaurant and a bar with meals. Both are booked in advance, so early booking is advised.
All food comes from the same kitchen. The differences are in the menue.

This was a great hotel, our room was very comfy. The food was excellent, I highly recommend the french toast for breakfast! After dinner we went and sat in the bar for a few drinks, there was a great atmosphere.

A quality, modern hotel enhanced most by staff with good old fashioned manners. Rooms are plush and comfortable, hard to leave the room even with the stunning surroundings. The food is first class, prepare to be spoiled. A memory maker. Don't hesitate.

Just back after a great night in this Gem of a Hotel that puts a lot of mainland hotels to shame, Room 210 has great views from all windows and bed is awesome as well as decor and the shower. Being a fellow Islander that has spent many a night in various hotels throughout the world with my work this 1 stands out, staff and owner very pleasant.
This is well worth a visit.

Room Tip: Room 210 is a must massive bed and great shower.
