So happy we choose Cuil Lodge for a visit to Skye. This lovely home is immaculately kept and located on a hill over looking the water. Spectacular sunsets! The owners took very good care of us and the breakfasts were delicious. This B&B is perfectly located for exploring the northern part of the island.

My husband and I along with his parents stayed at Cuil lodge for several days in Septeber. We it was our "home base" as we explored Skye. We loved our rooms and the views across the bay were just beautiful. Both of our rooms had excellent views of the bay. I'll post the view from the room my husband and I stayed in. Alex and Sue make a terrific breakfast. Alex makes excellent eggs, and the porridge with a dash or two of good single malt is really quite good. (No, Really you should try it when you are there.) They also have terrific suggestions for where you can get great meals while you are in Uig or elsewhere on Skye. We ate really well while we were there. The rooms have plenty of space and the beds were quite comfortable. The shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Everything is very clean and well kept. What make the place truely special are Alex and Sue. They are really friendly and helpful. It was a joy to stay with them. My family looks forward to staying with them again.

The view from our room over the water was just grand. I'm sorry we missed Alex but Susan kept us well fed with a wonderful breakfast, complete with single malt to pour over our porridge! I'm actually not a single malt lover but really enjoyed this special touch and we've since tried it at home. The room for the two of us was quite large. I especially appreciated that Susan made the bed with a sheet as a duvet only can get quite warm at night. We were able to walk to dinner. Our only problem was that the grocery ATM in Uig did not accept our US debit cards and we should have planned to stop in town. We had saved our payment for our last day, making it necessary to use a credit card.

We booked a couple of nights in Uig before taking the ferry to Lewis. We were delighted we chose Cuil Lodge and hope to return one day.
evertything was just right and they couldn't have been more helpfull. The views are great and you can watch the ferry arrive/depart in the bay justa cross the water. It is also a good location for North Skye and getting out to the hills of the Quiraing.

The Cuil Lodge was simply the best place I have ever stayed in any hotel or B&B. I would give it 120 marks out of 100. The room was incredibly well-equipped (even with a warm water bottle hanging on the door of the clothes closet which sported also a trousers-press!), spacious, and beautifully decorated with seaview on two sides as well as Susan's delicate patchwork handicrafts. There was even a mini library in the room and magazines hidden in many drawers. The bathroom was exceptionally large and also with a view of the pier and the immense sea. Breakfast was superb. The renowned porridge with a dash of 10 year Scottish whiskey was *VERY* delicious (though I don't drink any alcohol) and a must-try. Susan was soooooo kind and gave me a lift to the pier the next morning to catch my bus. Uig is at the end of Skye, the island at the end of the earth (especially for me from Hong Kong). It is worth visiting at least once in a lifetime, though I have been there twice already and will surely go there again.

For a really gracious, accommodating, comfortable place to stay, go to Alex and Susan's. It is acleolutely top notch in every way. They went out of their way to help us feel at home and gave dialy tips on places to see on the Isle of Skye. We loved the breakfasts and people are right on when decribing the porridge, the best porridge we ate on our 4 week trip in Scotland. For comfort and support, this bed and breakfast can not be beat.!!!!!

Our first reaction on arrival was wow, what a location, what a setting and this was before we were warmly welcomed. Our room was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated with simply stunning views across the bay. Breakfast was absolutely perfect and nothing was too much trouble. Tripadvisors best score is 5 which is inadequate as The Cuil Lodge Guest House is definately worth SIX out of five! There was not one single aspect of our stay that could be criticised or indeed improved upon and we would recommend to anyone.
