Based on description and ratings expectations were high. But from the first moment till now back home we were incredibly happy with that cottage: Stunning location in a wonderful bay with fantastic views, plenty of space, a kitchen that you really enjoy because of more than standard equipment, lots of books and a folder with suggestions for hikes. Struan is a good base for discovering Skye when you've got a car, as all highlights can be reached easily (Cuilins, Portree, Quiraing, Dunvegan etc.). Definitely THE place to stay on Skye!

Four of us (2 couples) stayed here for a week and we couldn't have asked for more from our holiday.
The cottage has a fantastic location - the views around the cottage are superb and are forever changing due to the weather.
There always seemed to be some wildlife to watch - either cows and sheep who are regularly grazing on the fields surrounding the cottage or the birds constantly flying around or swimming in the water. We saw a seal one evening and there was a heron that was regularly on the search for food by the water's edge.
We cooked and ate in the cottage every evening - it is well equipped if you wish to do this and there is a great little food shop in Dunvegan. Otherwise, there are Co-op supermarkets in both Portree and Broadford which had everything we could possibly want or need.
The 2 bedrooms are at either end of the property with the open-plan living area in the middle so each couple felt that they had plenty of space to themselves.
We had several meals out at lunchtime - we would recommend the Ellishadder Art Cafe, which is just off the A855 Portree to Staffin Road near to Kilt Rock, and The Old Inn at Carbost.
We bought a cooked lobster and several varieties of smoked fish at The Oyster Shed, also in Carbost for our dinner one night - all delicious.
One of our highlights was having lunch at The Three Chimneys, which was absolutely excellent.
Although the cottage is located right on the west coast, we never felt that we were staying too far away from anywhere that we wanted to visit - anyway, we enjoyed all our drives around the island as there are so many beautiful views to enjoy.
We would definitely stay at this cottage again when we next have a holiday on Skye.

We thought that the cottage was in a perfect place as a base for exploring on foot (the nearby coastline) and by car for visiting Skye and all its attractions, particularly Sligachan and the Cuillins. The hotel at Sligachan served good food. We enjoyed meals at The Old schoolhouse at Dunvegan and the Inn at Stein. The cottage was great and had everything we needed for our stay, including a dishwasher, washing machine and Wi-Fi. Best of all was the location and views. Thanks for a great holiday!

Just spent four nights at Creagan Ban. The cottage is everything you could wish for and more. Well equipped and comfortable. Peaceful location, stunning views and great walks. Can't wait to go back! Old School house restaurant in Dunvegan is worth a visit. Great service and excellent food.

Stopped here for my birthday. I could not believe it when I walked in to the cottage. The sun was shining and the views were amazing. It certainly has the WOW factor!
The two bedrooms are either end of the cottage and both with ensuites. The kitchen is well equipped. We had everything we needed.
On my birthday we dined at the Ullinish Country Hotel which is just up the coast. After a fab meal we braved the wind and walked the mile back.
The view changed continuously throughout the day and we even spent an hour outside stargazing the sky was that clear!
It looks good on the website but it exceeds your expectations. We all loved it :0)

Beautiful cottage in an amazing location. Everything you could want is here. The views are fantastic. I would love to retire somewhere like this. Really do not want to leave
Everything you could want in this beautiful, comforting, relaxing cottage with a view that you could look at forever!! Lovely large lounge, very well equipped kitchen, roomy bedrooms with comfortable beds, calming views and stress relieving walks along the coastline....what more could you ask for?? We did not see any wildlife around the cottage but saw plenty of seals a short drive away at Coral Beach. Would definitely recommend this cottage to everyone....thank you Suzanna!!
