Firstly let me say that the food was good.
We (my wife and I) ate in the Bar. The first thing we noticed was that there are no "Starter" options on the Bar Menu. Apparently the new owners have taken them off. Shame that. Had there been Starters, I would probably have had one. I don't really like desserts, so they lost a sale. And probably two if my wife would have taken one too.
Mussels weren't available and my wife got one of the only two remaining portions of langoustine. This was early evening, before 6:30.
The next table asked for Coke - but there was none. Only the diet version was available.
I had leg of lamb. It was perfectly cooked and the accompaniments were good.
My wife has, as previously said, langoustine. She enjoyed them.
The credit card machine in the bar wasn't working, so we had to go through to reception to pay.

All in all, a good dinner, in a really strange experience. And it's expensive.

I urge anyone travelling to Skye to avoid this particular establishment because the new owners haven't the slightest notion of what customer service is.

I shall merely recount my own experience of the place to explain my rating.

I had watched every episode of The Apprentice, so naturally I didn't wish to miss the final - my problem was that I was in the hostel without a TV. Earlier in the day I had asked the hotel whether I could watch the programme there and just before 20.00 I was pleased to be allowed to watch it - without sound - in the bar. After half-an-hour the rude Dutch manager came and turned it off, despite the fact that no customer had complained and I had told him I was wanting to watch it.

As someone who had been putting money into their tills for the last three nights (their beer's expensive, by the way), I felt truly insulted and upset by this man's deplorable behaviour.

Please visit the beautiful Isle of Skye, but don't waste your time in such an unwelcoming place.
