The staff at the trekking centre were quite accommodating, we got a hold of them through the Visit Scotland office in Portree & were able to take an hour's ride that same morning, before leaving Skye later in the afternoon. Staff were friendly & shared great recommendations of what to do during our trip. Some have mentioned it's catered to children, but even as an adults with riding experience, we found it enjoyable & the scenery beautiful. Good to keep in mind the centre mostly uses ponies instead of horses, so the pace is a bit slow & the ride tends to be in a single file line. The centre has plenty of friendly dogs, chickens, and cats to keep children entertained, and neighboring properties have lambs and hairy cows.

An ideal trek out into the beautiful Skye countryside with a friendly group of leaders and easy going ponies/horses. Our 3 children's ages range from 11 - 6, and they have varying degrees of experience (and confidence). The stables selected suitable ponies and the leaders cleverly distracted the younger children thereby ensuring their lack of confidence was quickly forgotten so that they could properly enjoy the experience.

Went here with 3 kids who are all beginners at riding.
They were taken for a one hour trek, all three were led by a staff member.
Ponies were well cared for, staff seemed to know all of their individual preferences. The stable seems to be well organised and happy.

Please note there is a 14 stone weight limit as they have ponies rather than bigger horses.

There is a basic cafe, home baked scones etc, and a gallery selling pottery and knitwear, jewellery and photography.

people were very friendly and chatty but we booked after being told it catered to all abilities, we can ride and it was fairly disapointing:-( just walked in single file down a path and back again, ( very similarto previous bad review i'm afraid)the flyer we saw stated it was under new managment? so maybe ths had changed hand since the previosu excellent revews? no 2 hour trek apparently available anymore and at £25 for an hour slow walk we were pretty disapointed, that said the staff seemed totally to know their horses and it woudl be a nice hour for a complete young beginer that just wants to sit on a horse for a leisurally walk.

I got a present of horse trek from my great aunty, who lives on Skye, this is the 2nd time I have been to this riding centre and it was great! They are so friendly, talk to you while on the trek and the horses are great, very well behaved and friendly. Will be going back next year too!
