“Very friendly and comfortable”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

I arrived at Isle of Skye with no accomodation and found this amazing B&B (actually via another B&B which was full) which has an amazing view across the water/sea. Elaine was an amazing host who gave me tons of travel (regarding Skye as well as the Highlands) and was so friendly. She even came and gave me help when I got into some trouble on the road. The room was a comfortable single room (30 pounds per night) with a spacious bathroom just next door. The breakfast was extremely varied, ranging from fruits, cereal, salad, scrambled eggs, toast+spreads, cheese and a few slices of ham/salami. I loved the selection and felt bad only being able to eat a tiny amount but it may not appeal to those that love their sausages/bacon in the morning (though I'm sure she'd cater to your breakfast needs). It's also only about 10 minutes walk from the town centre where there's many places to eat. I can't believe I didn't know about it when doing my research on tripadvisor so I'm giving it good review to boost it's rating!

Elaine was a wonderful welcoming hostess. Thank you for all your travel advice Elaine. We had a very short stay on Skye but with your help we managed to fit in the highlights. A very comfortable stay and great value.

Had been travelling all over the UK for the last 5 weeks, (different b&b almost every night), and the Conusg was an absolute haven.
Peaceful, quiet, and beautifully appointed facilities, and Elaine was so friendly and helpful. Absolutely agree with all the good points already described by other reviewers.

Even with the dreaky weather at this time of the year, Skye is a beautiful place, and the Conusg just made this a most memorable visit.

Value for money - absolutely ! You will not find better.
We have not found another place anywhere which is as good as this.

Conusg was delightful from start to finish and I wished we could have stayed longer. Conusg is tucked away just off the main road in Portree, but is handy for everything. The owners made us feel most welcome and helped us make the most of our stay on Skye. Elaine was a fantastic hostess, a veritable goldmine of information and local tales, all delivered with great forethought and cheerfulness. Our room was spacious and extremely comfortable, with lots of extra touches ensuring we felt well looked after. We were surprised to also be given use of the adjoining lounge. Breakfasts were lovely, with Elaine again offering lots of choices and even inviting us to pack up croissants, pastries, cheeses etc to enjoy during our days out. Elaine's tips on where to go, where to eat etc were invaluable. Never had this type of service in places costing three times as much. Total gem of a place, thank you Elaine, can't wait to come back :D

What a fantastic find! Nestled away just behind the Cuillin Hills Hotel, about 10-15 minute walk from Portree main square, this lovely B&B was an ideal home for our 3 night stay in Skye in October 2012. We stayed in room 1- triple room (double bed & single bed) and with large en suite bathroom (large shower, toilet, sink). The room was immaculate and was cleaned each day. We were also provided with a kettle, tea/coffee, bottle openers, hairdryer, clean towels and toiletries were available. Breakfast was in the form of a cold buffet- perhaps my only criticism was that a traditional cooked breakfast was not an option- but everything provided at breakfast was lovely (cereals, croissants, jam, cooked meat, salad, fruit salad...). The breakfast room/ lounge was right next to us and Elaine (owner) made us feel very welcome and able to use the lounge whenever we wanted. Elaine was a wonderful host. She made us feel very welcome and was more than happy to help us plan our adventure in Skye.
I cant recommend this B&B highly enough. Stay here instead of an impersonal hotel! Any other B&B will not meet the high standards we experienced here, guaranteed!

This is by far the best stay I have ever had anywhere.

The pictures online do not do this place justice at all. It is a beautiful property in a lovely, quiet location but just a ten minute walk to town (some uphill but nothing unbearable). The inside is plush and beautifully decorated with thick carpets and dark woods. You would never guess that it use to be stables for the hotel down the hill. The rooms are so nice and warm. We stayed in a double Hayloft room upstairs. The bed was really comfortable. The bathroom is spa-esque with a huge tub and lovely shower. It was not ensuite but never encountered any problems accessing the shared bathroom. The breakfast is buffet style, with a variety of delicious and fresh selections. The breakfast tables are setup like a five star restaurant.

The accomodations really are warm, cozy and everything you could hope for after braving the elements to see the sights on Skye. They alone are five star worthy.

The hospitality from the hostess just makes this place even better. I wish I could rate it ten stars. She was so helpful during our entire stay. Every morning she would help with bus schedules and directions. She took our wet, muddy shoes to dry them out for us. She drove us to the bus station to catch an early morning bus. She packed a lunch for our journey out of town. I mean way beyond anything I have ever experienced anywhere. She always greeted us with a smile.

We stayed here in the middle of a two-week journey and during all of our other hotel stays, we longed for the Conusg and our wonderful hostess.

It was such a welcome sanctuary. I would have spent two weeks on the Isle of Skye just to stay at the Conusg the entire time. On top of it all, it is so inexpensive for the quality of accomodations.

Thank you for your kind words about Conusg. I am glad you enjoyed your stay. It was no problem helping you with information etc., and I would not have anyone carry their bags to the Bus Station unless they really wanted to! I am glad you enjoyed your breakfasts, too.

You are welcome to come back for 2 weeks anytime!

Kind regards,
Elaine

Lovely large bedroom with en-suite.- Immaculate. The continental breakfast was excellent with a lovely choice of meats, cheeses, fruit etc. Nothing was too much trouble for Elaine (owner) - she was always enquiring if everything was ok and gave us plenty of tips/info on where to go out to eat and where to visit on Skye. This B&B is Ideally suited if you are touring Skye. We liked it so much that we stayed another night.
