Joyce keeps the studio in immaculate condition and we were very comfortable for our week of views, sleep, walks, art, local crafts. There was a well equipped kitchen and lovely bathroom. The bed was comfy and we enjoyed some tv as well as the stunning views. Easy parking too. Joyce gave us clear instructions and answered our questions so that we felt very welcome. It was dark! We would bring a torch next time!
Lovely studio apartment by the sea. Has everything required for a comfortable stay. Beautiful setting, ideally located to explore the North of the Isle of Skye.
This is not my first review for Joyce and Brian's ideal self-catering accommodation. It is, however, the first time I have been here on my own.
I was wary of finding it lonely and isolated, but in fact barely had the time to fit in all the activities I wanted to do - both in the studio and out and about. In addition, I met and spoke with island residents every day and thoroughly enjoyed my week.
The studios are perfectly equipped and spacious enough to practise yoga or simply spread out with laptops, books, maps, etc. The kitchen facilities are just so easy to use and clean. There is a dishwasher, washing machine, halogen stove, grill and cooker. The beds are very comfortable, but the best thing of all is the amazing waterfall shower in the studios. There is nothing like it after 4-5 hours trekking through moors and bogs, streams, forests and up mountains in the drizzle and pouring rain. Truly heaven on earth!
I always visit in February and November, so can only imagine staying here is even better at other, more clement, times of year. Can't get enough and can't imagine ever tiring of this idyllic base.
This is the place to stay for touring Skye. Clean, well equipped and private, we had the best time here. Recommend pottering down to the loch first thing in the morning to watch the seals and enjoy the sound of the water lapping against the pebbles.
Very central and close to a key access route.
Thank you Brian and Joyce for helping us create many happy memories!
We loved the studio from the minute we walked in. It was well thought out, comfortable and warm. Joyce was very welcoming, We were in Studio 2. The tree outside our window framed the lovely view of the loch. We saw many different wildlife; wrens, gold crests and tree creepers, bats and a seal, all within close range from the window No otter sighting this time but apparently you can see them regularly. We hope to return for a longer stay in the future.
We had the pleasure of staying at this wee place at the weekend in October
Idyllic doesn't come close to describing it
We found this studio to be very clean, spacious and extremely comfortable and would thoroughly recommend it if you're looking for a peaceful retreat
Joyce was very welcoming and accommodating for our needs which was very much appreciated
We spent a week in Brian and Joyce's lovely studio. We would recommend it to anyone. It is a beautifully designed, high quality, well maintained let. The location is perfect - midway between Portree and Dunvegan, about 20 mins from a large co-op in Portree. The views over the loch are stunning, even in poor weather! Brian and Joyce are both incredibly warm and welcoming, and we cannot wait to go back.
