Had a great time at Fisher's Rock and loulou below pretty much sums up everything I would have said as well. Heather and Murdo were both really friendly and nice to talk to. Breakfast was great and plentiful whether you got the Full Scottish or the Continental. Heather also provides a list of good restaurants to go to in the room and other activities to do while on Skye. The wifi was also handy to have and worked well. Room was a touch smaller than other places we had stayed but this did not bother us and we had no problems fitting in a large suitcase and a large sports bag (though if you had 2 super large suitcases you may have trouble).

After a last minute decision to take ourselves off to Skye, luckily I managed to find Fisher's Rock had a small window of 2 nights that suited us down to a T. When we arrived, rang the bell, out popped Heather, a warm welcome, shown to our room and then Heather gave us a guided tour of her home. Stunning, simply stunning. As for the location... ocht words fail me. Heather has something magical and peaceful about her...not intrusive but we felt as though we had known her for years. Her friendly relaxed manner had us chilling into our break before we knew it. Breakfast? Well whether you choose continental or full scottish you will not be disappointed, fabulous, fresh and plentiful and all with a smile.

We loved Fishers Rock and will definitely be back.... hopefully soon. This was my first time to Skye and for a first time Heather certainly knows how to make you welcome.

Portree was great, we toured round the island and were always met by friendly local faces who seemed really genuinely interested in our trip, where we came from, how we were enjoying our stay, etc. As for eating out at night time.....spoiled by choice. I was surprised at how cheap it could be to eat out.... we ended up frequenting the Granary in the square. Wow massive huge portions of the most beautifully cooked fresh fish and seafoods. Oh well after Heather's big breakfast, and all those meals out I guess it's back to the pro points for me..

Skye and Fisher's Rock just simply stole my heart.
If you are thinking of visiting Portree I would thoroughly recommend Fisher's Rock...your don't know what you are missing not to give it a try. Heather and Murdo are gems!

We picked this B&B at random out of a row of houses along the Portree coastline - and we could not have made a better choice. Heather made us feel very welcome and we enjoyed a modern, clean room and a breakfast that was as near to perfect as breakfasts come, particularly with the view out over the decking over clear, glistening water - a magnificent start to the day.

The owner of Fisher's Rock (Heather) welcomed us very warmly and made sure that we were comfortable. Her tips on eating out were very valuable and we should have taken her advice and booked somewhere for the second night of the stay.
We travelled with another couple and our rooms were both nicely decorated with everything you could need. The hospitality trays were very good.
The views from the back of the property are just stunning and it would be wonderful to have breakfast on the decking on a nice morning.
My female friend and I opted for a continental breakfast while our husbands enjoyed porridge followed by full cooked breakfasts. The term continental breakfast was misleading in a lovely way. We enjoyed lovely fresh fruit, yogurt, breads, oatcakes, scotch pancakes, ham and cheese. What a feast! All followed by delicious toast, butter and great preserves.
Heather was very accommodating on our second morning when we had to leave early to catch a ferry. We really didn't expect to have breakfast but Heather prepared porridge, fruit and toast for us. Which was a lovely touch.
The only slight negative was the water temperature in the showers which did tend to fluctuate. However this was only a very slight problem and did not detract from our stay. All in all we would certainly recommend Fisher's Rock to anyone.

The welcome from the owner (Heather) was warm and genuine. Situated in a stunning location the premises are spotlessly clean. The room is a good size with all the necessary facilities and equipment. The breakfasts must be the best anywhere, prepared to your own likes and tastes.
A wonderfully relaxing place.

Room Tip: Only 2 rooms. Both on the same side of the building. This makes the service seem personal.

We were warmly welcomed by Heather to a very clean pristine B&B. Our room ,at the back of the house, looked towards a rockery and a slope. This did not take away from our experience. The breakfast area looked towards a nearby island over Loch Portree. his side of the house has a deck but we chose not to use it because it rained the whole time we were there. Heather's husband gave use lots of information about eating out in Portree. We took up his suggestions and had superb food at "The CAFE". The only thing that let the stay down was the bed mattress needed a" topper" or replacing.
We would not hesitate to return for a stay here again.
