This was the most amazing place I have stayed on any vacation. My fiance and I stayed in the self-catering annexe, which has a separate entrance from the b&b. I cannot express how much I loved this place.
The bed was wonderfully comfortable, and the place was nicely decorated, modern and very clean. Linens were provided, and it was very much a "relax and let us know if you need anything" experience. We spent most of our time on Skye hiking, so it was nice to come back to a warm and inviting space, with a comfy robe and hot soaking tub waiting.
Kiltaraglen is just a 10 minute walk from Portree, with a grocery store easily accessible and world-class restaurants dotting the harbor. Portree is also the easiest place to stay if you are traveling by bus instead of car-the bus station is right in the center of town, and stops are frequent. It's just a 15 minute ride to the Old Man of Storr, and the bus drops you off right in front of the trail entrance.
The only thing I regret is that while staying in the annexe, we were not able to try Kiltaraglen's breakfasts, which we read so much about. But there is a wonderful breakfast place 5 minutes away, Cafe Arriba, which is reasonably priced and has tasty food, from traditional Scottish breakfasts to absolutely delicious vegetarian interpretations.More
