All of Portree was booked, it seemed. Lucky for us, a B&B tenant had to depart early and this one room opened up and we happened to be the first to drive by the "vacancy" sign. (They said we were their first "walk-in" in three years!) Price range was in the scope of all our other rooms with en suite bathroom. The very large room was one of our top two favorites in Scotland. It was stunningly attractive, convenient and comfortable. The en suite had a big soaking tub as well as shower. The owners were delightful. See the rooms on their website: http://www.bruach-na-frithe.co.uk/. The home was situated up a private lane with lots of trees and landscaping.

In addition to the great lodging and breakfast, the owners, Norma and Bob printed off a tourist guide for us that included directions to the tops sights. Bob also supplied us with binoculars and spray for "midges". The spray must have worked as we had no bites. Norma graciously let me use her hair appliance, and promply supplied extra bedding when we asked. They treated us like good friends.

Secluded north of Portree within a short drive of the town centre. Norma and Bob are fine hosts providing hearty breakfasts and superior advice concerning places to see while exploring Skye. Very pleasant bedroom with wi-fi.

Returned to BNF for 7 nights, having first made the discovery in 2011.
The accommodation, food and care was certainly as good but, in the last 12 months, Bob and Norma have completed lots of work in the front graden - opening up the view and making the setting so much more attractive.
Bob and Norma worked so hard to make our stay as enjoyable as possible - and they were always available to help us with information about the numerous attractions of Skye.
BNF is situated half a mile uphill from Portree but this is really good exercise if you've eaten well!

We just want to say a big 'Thank You' to Norma and Bob Howard who run this
excellent guest house for their warm welcome and hospitality during our
recent visit to the Isle of Skye (3-7 June, 2012). This is a very
well-appointed B&B with lovely rooms and facilities. The breakfasts
were just right and set us perfectly for the day exploring mainly the
north of the Island. Bob's map was a great help and ensured that we hit
the keylocations during our stay. The mile walk into Portree was very
much appreciated ensuring we were ready to enjoy the culinary delights
of Portree's restaurants, and on the way back just a pleasant walk
before going to bed. We would certainly go back to 'Bruach na Frithe'
when next visiting Skye.

We stayed May 21 & 22 and had a great time. Our hosts were warm, friendly and really helpful. The accomodations were comfortable and a quick hop into city center.

Bob offered us a map of local 'must see' locations and we followed it like a treasure map, looking for the island's most stunning locations.

Food at breakfast was really great, including fresh fruit, a welcome touch.

Dinner suggestions were great "The Cafe" is a real gem.

You will have a great time here.

We stayed for two days over Easter, been very happy. Bob and Norma were extremely helpful and friendly. He has offered a self-made map with ten kind of secret or inside spots on the isle that you would not find anywhere else - we've been quite impressed by the Fairy Glen. Also knows good dinner places. Our room was large with a big bed, big wardrobe and an ensuite bathroom as big as the bedroom in your standard B&B. Ah, and it has a big bathtub! Breakfast is the usual thing, you can even get Porridge if you ask for it. The location is not central, but easily walkable, about 15 minutes downhill. Highly recommended, we'd definitely go again.

My husband and I stayed at Bruach na Frithe for 3 nights late October 2011. The accommodation was warm, very comfortable and extremely spacious. Bob and Norma were very friendly and Bob kindly provided us with a printed map clearly marked with many places of interest from which we spent a wonderful day exploring the north of the island. We are sure we would not have seen so much without Bob's help. The breakfast was excellent too.

Room Tip: Would recommend the double en suite with large corner bath
