I'll give this an average rating. I stayed for 2 nights in September 2016. I had a room to myself. Very tiny and low ceilings. I had a panic attack and had to leave the hostel and walk around Kyleakin for a spell.
While the tiny area was clean, just too tiny for me. WIFI only works in the kitchen area of the hostel, so when I went to my room, I had no WIFI. I think my panic attack would not have happened if I could have concentrated on something other than the low ceilings and the tiny window.
The staff was so-so friendly. The kitchen was okay and the lounging area was okay but there were guests all wrapped up and coughing so I didn't want to chance getting sick. I guess I'm just used to a more up to date hostel. Kinda dark in there. Hallways and stairways very narrow. If someone is cooking a pizza, you smell it in the whole hostel. Didn't like that. The outside of the building was not clean or kept. Looked like it could have used an nice sprucing up as far as a grass cutting and flower beds cleaned up. Just looked like no one really cared about the place.More
