“Charming B&B Hotel”
Reviewed September 17, 2013 via mobile

Thoroughly enjoyed our couple of nights in this quaint little hotel. Gillian makes sure her guests are looked after & feel special - she even went out of her way to ensure my GF travelling companion was well fed for breakfast. The hotel is in a beautiful spot & is excellent value. Highly recommended.

My family had the pleasure of staying here for two nights in July/August. We were met by Gillian (the owner) at check in. Each room had a packet of information regarding the inn and the surrounding areas. She graciously made dinner reservations for us (even though the restaurant was full, especially for a party of 6). The rooms were comfortable and there was full access to a kitchen as well as a computer. She had a room downstairs filled with games that my children loved! Breakfast was outstanding, prepared for each of us fresh in the am. The location was great, especially if you want easy access to the bridge. It was quite a drive to Portree- however, the views were worth it. There is even a castle ruin across the inlet, that is easily accessible by foot. I truly hope we have the opportunity to visit here again!!

Gillian is a wonderful and welcoming hostess. We had a small, clean and comfortable harbor view room and wish we could have stayed longer.
There is all the comforts of home. Washer/dryer, irons and a public kitchen for visitor's use.
Breakfast was wonderful, filling and hearty with eggs that are perfectly prepared.
We walked to a local, popular pub, Saucy Mary's and had a nice meal with yummy chowder.
Cannot wait to one day return and spend more time exploring this beautiful area.

Gillian was very friendly and helpful. We arrived later in the day, and she gave us a few suggestions for dinner (we chose Saucy Mary's, where the food was excellent). Our triple room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was great. As we had already been travelling a few weeks we REALLY appreciated the laundry room that was available for guest use!
I forgot my sunglasses in my room and contacted Gillian who arranged to send them to me via the post. If I am ever back to the Isle of Skye I know where I will be staying. Thanks again for everything Gillian!

I have only good things to say about this Hotel. It is situated in the village of Kyleakin in the south of Skye, near to the Skye Bridge. We arrived by bus from Armadale and easily walked to the Hotel. Gillian was so friendly and helpful when deciding what to do and where to eat. She would offer to book tables for you and book you onto any activities or boat trips that you wanted to do. The room was excellent. We had a room overlooking the Harbour and Castle Moil- what a view. We never got tired of looking out of the window and seeing the ever changing weather and landscape behind the castle and along Loch Alsh. The hotel also has two lounges both with big windows so you can enjoy the view. The guest handbook in our room was full of ideas for day trips and places to eat, all typed up by Gillian, not just leaflets, with recommendations from past guests. There was also a guest kitchenette where you could get fresh milk, use the fridge, microwave, coffee machine or washing machine. Breakfast was equally as good with a choice of freshly warmed bagels, croissants, toast and a full english. Would love to stay here again if we return to Skye and I would highly recommend to anyone!

I echo all previous reviews- Gillian was lovely and can't really fault the hotel or the location. View from our room was fantastic. My only slight gripe would be that the room was slightly older than it looks in the photos on the website, however in the grand scheme of things that didnt matter too much. Loved the good selection of tea and the little shortbreads in the room :)

A superb B & B. Our host Gillian was so friendly & very helpful regarding where to eat on both the evenings that we were with her. The breakfast she cooked on both mornings was absolutely delicious. Our room was perfectly located overlooking the marina. There was also internet access with a computer on site & plenty of reading material about the island.....lots of maps as well.

Room Tip: I think a room anywhere in this hotel would be ok
