“Great house and location.”
Reviewed October 6, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We spent a week at at No.2 in September this year and had a great time on Skye, made all the better by the accommodation. The house itself is situated within easy walking distance of all the attractions and amenities that Dunvegan has to offer and is a perfect base for touring Skye, with Portree only 22 miles away.
You could not ask for more inside the house, everywhere was spotlessly clean and everything we wanted was there. For those rainy days there were board games, loads of DVD's and Nintendo Wii and X-Box machines, both with games, and free Wi-Fi. The kitchen is well equipped and had more utensils etc. than I have at home. The beds were very comfy and the view I had from the twin room was excellent, overlooking Loch Dunvegan.
The back garden could do with a bit of tidy up, it's getting a bit overgrown, but it was getting near the end of the holiday season and the weather when we were there didn't give us much opportunity to use it anyway. Having said that, myself and one of the other guys took a wander out back one evening, down past the small jetty, with a couple of beers and spent an hour or so seal spotting. We did spot a couple of them surfacing with fish in their mouths, very relaxing.
The welcome basket that awaited us when we arrived was just that, very welcome, and contained some essentials to get us started including midge repellent, nice touch. There was also a couple of drams of Talisker whisky which I enjoyed very much.
Helynn and Sam could not have been more helpful during our stay and I would recommend No.2 to anyone visiting Skye.

We loved this place. It was so nice to spread out after being in hotel rooms. We were sorry we did not have our grandchildren since there were so many toys and games to enjoy. The location was great as well; lovely views of the sunset, and within walking distance of town and the restaurants. We would definitely stay there again if we were to return to the Isle of Skye.
The only recommendation I would make is to include in the book directions for using the shower. We did not discover the switch outside of the bathroom until the last day we were there!

“Really lovely cottage”
Reviewed September 11, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

I really enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage, I have stayed in cottages before but none compare to this one, everything that you want/need in a house is there, location really good by the Dunvegan castle, lovely bakery (the oldest one on Skye) restaurants and local shop.
Lovely comfy beds its like you are going to you own home, and them accepting pets is really a bonus. Really good, keep it that way!

“Comfortable house in good location”
Reviewed August 24, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

This house was well equipped and reasonably comfortable for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The kitchen was well appointed and offered a fabulous view!
We were greeted with a welcome hamper which was most appreciated.
There is allocated parking at the front of the property.
The Wifi connection seemed to be a little unstable...but that is probably a feature of the area.
We went to The Three Chimneys for a lunch. Highly recommended. Dunvegan village has basic amenities -but all on your doorstep. We would also recommend visiting Coral Beach. We were blessed with fabulous weather which made our stay all the more magical.

We stayed for 3 nights for a wedding at dunvegan castle which is about 200 meters up the road so the location was perfect for us. The house is extremely well equipped. There was everything you could possibly need and it was very clean. The decor is really nice and modern. The Internet is surprisingly fast. We had a great time and definitely would recommend to others.

Myself and six other friends stayed here for a weekend. I wish it was longer!!
A very modern look and has a homely feeling to it. They had thought of everything you need and want with bathroom, bedrooms and kitchen.
If your staying for a while there are loads of board games, dvds, computer games and a little dram of whiskey (nice touch) for a rainy day.
Also the owner will keep in touch with you before, during and after if you need them.

“Self catering cottage Dunvegan Isle of Skye”
Reviewed January 4, 2015 for a stay in January 2015

As a family of four we stayed in Dunvegan on the Isle of Skye for 5 nights over New Year and early January 2015. We stayed at No 2 Castle Crescent Dunvegan. We have stayed at many self catering cottages in the UK and New Zealand. This would have to be one of the most well appointed self catering accommodation we have stayed in. This cottage caters for four very easily. We have two teenage boys who both had their own bedrooms, plus our bedroom. The cottage was a lovely place to come home to at the end of a tiring day. I can’t fault the cottage, it has everything you need, the kitchen is well appointed, lots of laundry power, dish washer tabs, lots of the basic necessities are provided, with a lovely welcome pack to greet you on arrival. If you are looking for a base to explore the Isle of Skye and don’t wish to stay in Portree, then we would recommend Dunvegan. Be prepared that the village is very quiet in Winter, there is a local shop within walking distance two hotels and the well known Jann’s Cakes which is a haven for yummy cakes and we even ordered take away which was delicious. Please don’t let the weather deter you from exploring the sites with adventurous walks and scenery that will take your breath away. Walk the Quirang, the Old Man of Storr, Neist Point Lighthouse.
