My friends and I were on an ambitious camping trip around Isle of Skye, when unfortunate weather struck that did not quite match our lack of waterproof supplies. It was during the high season and everything was booked out, but the owner of Misty Isle generously offered to let us stay in a cozy spare room not typically available to guests for next to nothing. He probably saved all of us from getting hypothermia in the end. Thank you Misty Isle Hotel for the unforgettable, extraordinarily kind experience!

Had several drinks over a 10 day visit camping. Don't be put off by its run down appearance the staff and locals are really friendly and chatty, live sports on TV and a pool table to entertain you. Didn't eat but did see others and the food looked great, locals were coming in for meals to take out , must be good. Can't wait to return and see our new friends again. Dropped a star as the toilets though clean and functional are in need of a "urgent" upgrade.

imagine you enter a david lynch or coehn's brothers movie. When you overcome the first impact you can relax and still say that beside old fashioned furniture and strange people this is still a place you can have regular meal and bedroom.

I travelled with a Kiwi friend and being from Germany myself we had a smashing night in Misty in the company of people from Australia, US, Canada, New Zealand and of course local islanders. The interior of the bar is following the main theme of the place and therefor a carefully hand selected collection of rustique and authentic items. The staff is incredibly friendly (also to my dog) and competent (especially when it comes to alcohol). The drinks are very affordable and a wide range of local beverages is offered. The lavatories convince by functionality. We didn´t eat, but learned from the locals, that especially the prawn sandwiches are known for their very precise finish and are highly recommended. So if you want to explore the real Scotland with it´s characters and stories - go to the Misty Isle Hotel. Conclusion: A spot on pub, if you´re not faint hearted.
