Description: The Three Chimneys Restaurant is one of Scotland's most iconic restaurants, set in a stunning location beside the sea in the north west corner of the Isle of Skye. Colbost is situated on the shores of Loch Dunvegan, a wide sea loch that opens into The Minch, the narrow stretch of sea between Skye and the Outer Hebrides. The views are stunning whatever the time of year. The Three Chimneys is famous for specialising in the freshest local produce including wonderful seafood from the immediate coastal waters. the restaurant has been owned by husband and wife, Eddie and Shirley Spear, for 32 years. The couple bought the traditional stone-walled croft house in 1984 and developed the business into what it is today, with an amazing worldwide reputation. The Three Chimneys has won countless awards and accolades. Head Chef, Scott Davies and his Brigade of young chefs are passionate about preparing and cooking the finest local ingredients, including seafood, eat and game. Innovative dishes and exciting taste combinations are served by a professional young crew front-of-house, who pride themselves in delivering skilful, but friendly and welcoming service at all times. there is an excellent Wine List and cocktails and other bar beverages, including a good range of malt whisky and Scottish gin, are served in the Lounge in the evenings to both house guests and restaurant customers alike. Advance bookings are essential and accommodation can be provided in The House Over-By adjacent, or in a number of good quality B&Bs and self-catering accommodation in the neighbourhood.

The restaurant was lovely and the service was great. There is a choice of two or three course meals. Food was very good, but portions were very small and prices very large. A small glass of wine cost 10 pounds. We went for lunch and dinner is much more costly. Reservations are necessary.

My husband and I took my sister to The Three Chimneys for an evening meal on Thursday 8th November, 2012. The drive and the views were breathtaking. The setting, the ambience and the attention to detail were first class. The staff were all very friendly and accomodating. The food was of a very high standard. What a night! We will definitely be back again. P. B. Glasgow.

This is one of the most perfect tasting menus we have had in a Michelin * restaurant. A long way but a beautiful drive but the reward of tranquility is so worth it

We came here for an evening meal in the summer to celebrate our 40th anniversary...actually having visited the site 36 years ago on a camping trip when it was then a fish and chip restaurant...and apparently illegal drinking den! Nothing so dodgy now, although the setting remains wonderful. We had the Seven tastes of Skye and had a really memorable occasion. The service was excellent, very well informed but friendly and not stuffy. The food was just brilliant - very imaginative, well balanced and tasted wonderful. Yes, it is pricey, but that is what you would expect to pay for such high standards in such a remote location - the presumably large and definitely talented team that supports this level of cooking and presentation needs to be funded. We hope to be back before another 40 years pass!

We visited Skye for the first time in September and the only thing we regret is not visiting earlier.
We booked a good six months in advance to eat at The Three Chimneys for our wedding anniversary. We love to sample new dishes and where possible always opt for a taster menu leaving our meal in the hands of the chefs.
Here we were not disappointed.
On arrival we were greeted at the door and shown to our table, a lovely candle lit environment and although we were quite close to the door it was lovely and cosy. We were presented with the choice of menus - a la carte and the seven course taste of Skye menu, together with a very comprhensive wine list.
As it was our anniversary we decided to have a cocktail whilst we read thought the menus, if we had one little criticism, it would be we had to ask for an arrival drink and they took along time to come, they arrived with our first course, however, easily forgiven once we started to eat.
We choose the seven course taster menu and the wine flight, each dish was excellent, the flavours, the presentation and of course the local ingredients were outstanding.
Each dish was described to us and we felt we could ask about the ingredients and ask the sommelier why he had choosen the wines to match. The sommelier was very knowledgable and very friendly.
We couldn't believe the standard of the dishes here considering the restaurant is in the middle of nowhere, if you are visiting Skye this is a must book experience, yes a little pricey but well worth every penny.
Thank you all the chimney staff for making our 11th anniversary one to remember
