Berabhaigh Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #8 of 26 Broadford B&B and Inns
Reviewed June 8, 2011

This guest house is very close to restaurants/shops in Broadford.

The owners were very welcoming and had a great knowledge of the local area which was much appreciated.

The twin room was well appointed and spacious as was the ensuite which had a shower and bath.

Breakfasts were excellent with a good choice of food on the menu.

We made our first visit to Skye and were very impressed by the welcome and accommodation we received. We booked the Berabhaigh based on the reviews and were not disappointed. Ann has 2 double rooms, both of equal standard and as we travelled with friends, the four of us were 'guests' for 3 nights. The personal attention to our needs far surpassed staying in a hotel. Ann and Ian took time to recommend restaurants, places we had to visit on Skye and were very good hosts. Beds were remade, rooms cleaned, bathroom tidied and towels replaced daily. In fact, sometimes we felt Ann gave herself unnecessary work, such was the standard she maintained. If you want peace & quiet to enjoy your trip to Skye, we recommend staying here. We also had use of a very comfortable guest lounge in the evenings for a relaxing glass of red wine after a hard day hiking. All in all we had a very enjoyable break on Skye.

Room Tip: Book early, as many travellers were turned away.

My husband and I stayed one night in Berabhaigh - we just wish it was for longer! Anne and Ian were very welcoming and full of knowledge of the isle and places to visit. The bedroom was immaculate as was the en-suite, the views were fantastic also. The breakfast was superb - enough to last you the whole day!! You really do need to stay at least a few days on the Isle of Skye and a car is a must.

Excellent woodwork and cabinetry. Sewing kit & first aid kit. Super shower with plenty of
water pressure. Pedestal sink. Great bedding and sheets. At least 4* as rated. Owners
have a great personality and are very helpful with advice as to best locations to visit. The
breakfast is deluxe. Owners aim is to please the guests, not in it for the money. That is
why they have such a high rate of return customers = customer satisfaction #1. Good to use as a base for day trips to other areas in Skye district. Plenty of hiking in the Cuillan Mountains. Only problem = only two rooms. Booking by computer is easy. They also have a 5* huge home that is reasonably priced if you are a small group, by the week.

Room Tip: Both rooms the same or rent the 5* Ardmore .

We had a wonderful time with Anne and Ian. Loved the guest lounge. Even had a cozy fireplace. They took the time to talk to us when we first arrived. Just wonderful people. As we talked about the wildlife of the area, Anne commented that she had never seen an otter. Lo an behold the next morning during our yummy breakfast, we heard Anne yell that she had just seen an otter run across the back yard. They both shared many stories of the area with us and gave us great advice on where to visit on Skye. Bedroom was nicely done and the bathroom was huge-not the average add-on. REALLY wish we could have stayed longer. Will definately make this our base for our next visit to skye.

This B&B was probably the most elegant one we've stayed at during our one week trip to Scotland. Very clean, very cozy, very confortable. Sometimes it almost seemed a bit too elegant. This impression was probably caused by one of the hosts, Ann, who sometimes seemed a little "British" - very strict and serious. But that was probably just a wrong impression, because she was very nice, as well as Ian, her husband, who was very, very nice and friendly to us and shared a few good stories with us and the other guests during breakfast.

The room was also very nice, in which, when we arrived, there was everything ready for us to prepare some tea, coffee or hot chocolate with some shortbread cookies, if we wanted. The beds were very comfortable and there was a TV with lots of Sky channels, a window with a wonderful view and a very pleasant bathroom.

All in all, apart from some awkward moments in which we didn't know if Ann was upset with something or not but which quickly faded away, this was a very nice place to stay.

First time ever in a bed and breakfast and were not disappointed, Anne and Ian were very friendly and made us feel at home, nothing was any bother for them. Bedrooms nicely decorated also clean and spacious with nice views. Breakfast was well cooked and plenty of choices. Ian a mine of information about the Isle, being a local he knew all the good walks, climbs and places of interest as he had done most of them himself. Unknowingly we left an item behind, Anne & Ian posted it 1st class the day we left and we received it the following day. Thankyou.
We would certainly return here and cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough.
