We were on the Isle of Skye during hurricane Katya! Although we were only there 2 days, and it poured rain both days, we had a nice time driving all around! It was a wonderful welcome we received from Marilyn and she could not have done more for us! Very very clean property with tea and coffee maker in room as well as her homemade biscuits. Great lounge area with lots of books and dvd's. Marilyn is very gracioius and sweet! we fell in love with her and I am sure we will be talking about our stay there, although short, for quite some time. Marilyn....we wish you all the best and thanks for all your help!

Room Tip: downstairs room has its' bathroom in the hall, but still quite private, and the bathroom is really nice and a good size! Marilyn provides washcloths for your face which is unusual in European bathrooms, and something I [being from the usa] really appreciated!!

We had debated over our choice of accomodation for Skye as this was our only holiday this year and when we arrived at The Luib to a fantastic and extremely warm welcome from Marilyn we were overwhelmed and delighted.

Not only is the cottage exceptionlay clean and cosy it is welcoming and very relaxing. Marilyn was exceptional and made us feel at home without being intrusive. Her hosting skills are first class and a joy as we all know poor service can spoil anything.

Our room was spacious, imaculate and the views were wonderful as were the home made shortbreads and the breakfasts were gorgeous.....no need for lunch as it gave us a hearty start to the days hill walking ahead. Even our dog Bruno loved his stay and was made very welcome.

It is not often that I can say whole heartedly that somewhere is excellent (especially these days) but The Luib and Marilyn are and I would recommend it to anyone, as we said it 'made our trip'

Thank you very much Marilyn and see you again x

My sister and I stayed one night while travelling through Scotland, the Highlands and the Isle of Skye. A few days before our arrival to Luib House, our plans changed and I had to cancel our second night and found no problems with this last-minute change. I had a big cold that day and the location was a little further from town than I thought but very clean, comfortable and friendly. Marilyn was an excellent host, was very accommodating and made us laugh a lot. When we arrived, she gave us the choice of any room we wanted and we stayed with the original choice of double en-suite room which was very comfortable and clean although a bit cold -- could be due to the big storm and winds outside or the fact I was ill :-). Excellent breakfast, great view of the Loch Ainort, complete with rainbows!

The Luib house was one of the most impressively done properties we stayed in Scotland. Its very neatly done with all modern amenities. You also get in-room tea maker and biscuits in plenty. It also has a great lounge area with many books and dvds.

The host is a very warm and gentle lady who made sure to look after all our comforts. Guests can even use her kitchen to prepare their own meals! We really appreciated that as we were too tired to go out and look for food.

The only drawback of the property is its location. It has a very nice view, however is very far away from any are of human activity - its almost impossible to find a good restaurant/ shopping area nearby.

Also the bathrooms are a little small and cramped for your liking.
Overall, we had a good time and a good night's sleep.
