Stayed here in March 2013.
Skye was still hibernating for the winter and very few hotels and restaurants were open but the rooms here are very pleasant and the food served in the pub next door was perfectly acceptable.
I believe the Hotel restaurant, where breakfast is served, was due to open for the summer that weekend.
Not many facilities either in the Hotel or nearby but then most visitors don't go to Skye for a resort experience.

Arrived at hotel later afternoon and it was very quiet. No one on reception however young lad very quick to come through when I rang the bar. Dining room shut so had to eat in the bar which was ok but company not the best. Local chap relaying his illnesses to fellow local at the bar and choice language at times. Lad behind the bar did however ask him to tone it down as guests present.
Room comfortable although became very cold during the night.
Breakfast in the morning was lovely with a gorgeous view over the bay to the mountains on the mainland

Thank you for posting your review on Trip Advisor. During the quieter months, we do close the Spinnaker Restaurant and use the Gabbro Bar for meals with the Hot Pod Stove making it cosy for our guests. I am sorry that on the night you stayed the company there left a bit to be desired, however I am glad that our barman asked the local to tone it down. I was disappointed that there was no extra heater in your room as we do have one in each bedroom just in case it gets colder during the night.

Delighted that you enjoyed your breakfast and do hope that you will return to us again.

Stayed here on business as no B and B available due to time of year. Had stayed before and wouldn't have chosen to return as just not great.
This time however was horrendous.
Hotel felt abandoned and empty.
Staff we did see were all wrapped in scarves and coats.
Restaurant shut and it was a cold wet trip to the bar for a meal which was ok.
Overnight was horrendous. We were frozen. So much so my business partner went to his car for a while to thaw out with heating on in middle of night.
No extra hearing offered and hotel appeared to be unmanned overnight so we couldn't do anything.
Staff were far from sympathetic in the morning and obviously fed up hearing the same from other guests. We were told we should have hot up and phoned someone in middle of night!
We appeared to be only ones at this time though and breakfast room too was freezing. A lovely open fire was empty though. Why???! Staff member was wearing big wooly scarf!
I did email all my concerns privately via hotel website but 3 weeks later and no response so trip advisor my only option.
Despite few days from Christmas only sign we saw of this was wee six inch tree on end of bar.
All in all a damn shame.
A great location, pretty decent rooms, totally jaded staff and total lack of heating.
It wouldn't take much to make it great as have met chef before and she seemed a star.
Not flying flag for Skye or Scotland one little bit. How sad.

I was so disappointed to hear about your recent stay at the Broadford Hotel and do welcome the opportunity to address the issues that you have raised.

Firstly, we have not received any email from yourself to the hotel. Both the Head Receptionist and General Manager have checked all files including spam and junk mail folders, and cannot find any email from you.

I am sorry that you felt cold. On the night of your stay, the Hotel was open until 1.00a.m. Following that, the General Manager, who resides permanently in the hotel was contactable by simply dialling, (as is standard in almost all hotels) the number "0", on the telephone next to your bed, whereupon he would have provided extra heating for you within 5 minutes (without you having to get up apart from to open the bedroom door for him). I am at a loss to understand why you did not try to contact reception for more heating?

The Hotel regrettably might be lacking some atmosphere at this time of year, but as the partner in a local business you will be well aware of this due to the lack of tourists around just now. The only area actually closed in the Hotel is the restaurant, and with EVERY restaurant in the village closed at present, I would have thought you would have agreed that to have two food operations open would make no economic sense. We totally refute your suggestion that the staff on duty were wrapped up in scarves and coats, this is simply untrue and a silk neck scarf worn by the Head Receptionist, polo shirt by the Bar Manager and shirt and tie with no jacket worn by the manager hardly constitutes scarves and coats!!!

During the period of your stay, we had a 6 foot tall tree on your right as you entered the bistro (where you had breakfast), along with decorations and baubles for the Christmas parties we hosted through until the 24th of December.

The staff are not at all jaded, and why would they be? This is absolutely not the impression submitted by the couple who stayed the same week as yourself, who's review posted on the same day as your own testifies!
