“Utterly perfect!”

My husband and I stayed here for a week this summer and were so sad to leave. The setting is perfect with stunning views over the bay and to the hills beyond - we would have happily just sat on the bench looking at the view and listening to the curlews, oyster catchers, geese and gulls!
The cottage itself was immaculate and beautifully decorated in a traditional style, but with all the mod cons you would need (including, thankfully, a dishwasher and washing machine). The shower was great, the bath was even better as you could admire the view while having a soak, and the loo was a loo with a view!
The nearest decent sized shop (a co-op) was only a 5 minute drive away in broadford, and the red Skye restaurant was a pleasant 10 minute stroll from the cottage.
If I had to be picky, my only complaint would be the very noisy fridge which did spoil the peace a little, if I was being picky.
We will definitely stay here again when we visit Skye, thank you so much for a wonderful holiday!

“Idylic,all we could wish for.”

Everything in the cottage was excellent and more than we expected. Beautifully clean throughout, lovely kitchen, table laid with wine to welcome us. Great bath overlooking the water, marvellous views. We enjoyed it so much that we have booked two more holidays there.

We had a fantastic stay at Tidal Cottage over New Year. Having previously visited Skye in the summer, we didn't quite know what to expect weather-wise, so we wanted to book a cottage that would be a perfect base if the weather was bad. Tidal Cottage was everything we wanted and more. We managed a couple of days in the Cuillins and a trip to the Kylerhea Otter Hide, but we also spent three wonderful days watching films, playing chess & trivial pursuit, and looking for birds out of the window. The house was spotless, the owner was very helpful and we would recommend this cottage to anyone looking to get away from it all. I can't begin to imagine how wonderful it must be on a summer's day!

“Most amazing cottage in an amazing location”

If you want a cottage where you just want to relax, get away from everything and take everything in your own pace this is the cottage. I absolutely love this cottage and didn't want to leave, the cottage over looks a beautiful coast with the water lapping the wall, and then the tides out so much wildlife turns up, and even swimming sheep! We unfortunately had a lot of rain on 2 of our days so we got the lovely log fire burning, opened up the tin of shortbread and pour (several) glasses of whiskey, reading and listening to all the birds and water. The bath at sunset was just perfect and highly recommend sitting in it with a glass of wine watching the fading light. A truly amazing cottage and we will be returning in 2016. Oh and be prepared for the friendly chickens!

“A little bit of heaven”

We have stayed in lots of holiday cottages and rentals over the years but never anywhere quite like Tidal Cottage.

On arrival we had a look around and the place was absolutely spotless. The little kitchen table had been laid up and there were two small bottles of wine waiting for us as well as teabags, milk and various dry food stock in the cupboard.

The views from all the windows in the cottage are spectacular and we spent so much time just staring out over the obbe at the water and wildlife. We were fortunate enough to spot an otter - something we had hoped for but not expected - as well as oystercatchers, curlews, herons, wagtails & pippits.

We were amazed to discover that Robert and Janet are fairly new to the industry, you could not possibly guess this from the way the cottages is kitted out & so tastefully decorated. We guessed they were old hands at it.

There is a lovely little garden with bench table & most evenings we sat and ate our dinner here. Often we were joined by next doors chickens & on one occasion the gorgeous collies from the other house next door.

The bed is comfortable, underfloor heating a godsend in the winter I should think, bath with view incredible. Nothing whatsoever to fault & we are already planning our next trip back. I cannot see how anyone would be disappointed with a stay here.

Skye is a truly beautiful place & there is tons to do, whether you are into walking, boat trips, museums, beaches or shopping for arts & crafts.

We would also highly recommend........

The Aros Centre, Portree - great arts centre with huge shop & tiny theatre seating 126. Worth checking out what's on. We saw a great band, North Sea Gas for the sum of £12 each. A fab evenings entertainment in a lovely setting

Creelers, Broadford - A bit of an odd set up & you must book but excellent food.

Talisker Distillery - I don't like whisky but the tour is very interesting & great value at £7 each. You are also able to join a free whisky club after the tour enabling you free entry to 11 other distilleries around Scotland. Again, must book.

Kelpie Crafts, Waterstein - Along the road to Neist Point, this little shop next to the owners house sells fantastic crafts of all kinds, all made by Linda herself. You can even watch her at work while you are browsing. Ideal for excellent value Christmas presents.

Loch Bay Seafood Restaurant, Stein - Amazing food & service. Must book but be warned, if you go early, they do have two sittings.

Portree Boat Trips, Portree Harbour - Informative & humorous wildlife & geology excursions with the very knowledgeable Peter.
