What drew us to Skye Picture House was the views and wonderful decking - they are really as good as the website suggests. The location is also excellent for exploring the southern half of the island. Stuart was excellent advice on walks and areas to explore and the 'Skye Porridge' with brown sugar, double cream and Drambuie will remain a culinary highlight of our holiday. On the downside, we felt that the room was small, the bathroom a little dated and that a great deal could be heard from one room to another. Still, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Thank you so much for your review. So pleased that you enjoyed your visit to the island. We also believe that our situation is perfect for making the most of all areas on Skye. Our rooms vary in size, not sure which room you were in. Guests are encouraged to view rooms on our website which gives a comprehensive description along with photos to enable guests at the booking stage. Hope that your return journey home was enjoyable.
Best wishes
Sarah and Stuart.

Unfortunately we were only able to spend one night at Skye Picture House. Broadford is conveniently located close to the Syke bridge. Skye Picture House is a few metres down the main road (quite a steep street) and is directly at the sea front, offering fantastic views from our room, as well as the breakfast room. We were staying in an ensuite double room - good size, nicely warm blankets, tea and coffee making facilities, perfect for our needs. Breakfast was excellent and Stuart gave us many very helpful tips for walks and sightseeing during our time in Skye.

Delightful hosts. First class local knowledge of the area. Exceptional breakfast. The porridge is a must if you stay here. Very comfortable bed. Would love to visit Skye again and without doubt stay at the Picture House.

The Skye Picture House is ideally situated for a touring holiday of Skye or for a one night stop over on the way to the Ferry. The setting is stunning as it is located on the shore of the Loch with fantastic views in all directions. Evening meals with a good selection are provided and are cooked to a high standard and very good value for money. I had just come over from the Outer Hebrides and it was one of the best cooked and balanced meals I had eaten in two weeks, three types of vegetables, unheard of! The guest lounge/dining room has a panoramic view over the loch to Scalpay and I ate my meal watching the seals swim by! Breakfast was to a high standard with several choices available.
The premises are licenced so you can have a drink with your evening meal, or when relaxing on the balcony. An impressive range of whisky’s are available and the tasting tray of three is a great way of comparing the different distilleries. My room was well furnished in good decorative order with a very comfortable bed.
The owners were friendly, welcoming and helpful. I arrived late due to a ferry delay and a strong head wind, I was cycling. They very kindly gave me plenty of time to sort myself out and settle in before preparing my evening meal. Down side? I should have stayed for at least two nights to do the area justice. Would I return? Yes without hesitation.

Room Tip: They all have great views.

Thank you for taking time to write a review, we have had a number of cyclist's stay with us and it seems that we are in a good central location either heading for or coming from the Outer Isles. Cyclists in particular enjoy the opportunity to have an evening meal and a drink and a well deserved rest looking out over the Loch to Scalpay.
Best wishes

I would recommend this bed and breakfast and would choose this again.....although my child and me were a bit disappointed with the breakfast.....portions small, toast had to have a discussion for more. However, delighted when the lady offered vegetarian Haggis which was very good.
There were a few negatives.....in the room unable to find some basic info that you would often find in others eg where to eat nearby, doctors, emergency information. Also no chair except small bathroom chair. Bathroom excellent. Lady and Man helpful.....breakfast early a bit as requested, was able to buy some food for my son who was hungry in the evening and the quality was good. Citylink stopped close by. Modern but I prefer a bit more traditional.

Thank you for your review and we are pleased your that travel arrangements worked out for you. The lay-by is very handy for the bus, but we do recommend however having a car in order to get around Skye.
We bake our bread every day and we always ensure that our guests have hearty breakfast.
All the rooms have the Visit Scotland Brochure and our welcome card, we also have the two folders in the lounge with general information ,walks, places of interest and all the local pubs & restaurants including their menus.
