Really enjoyed our visit on a rainy Sunday morning. Nice and quiet so we all got to handle the various types of marine life which made it so much more interesting than just looking at them in a tank. Staff were great with our son and very knowledgeable.

Stayed for hours. Really fun for the kids with knowledgable staff and the films in the small cinema were great. We watched them all. Loved it.

Do not leave Mull without having visited the brand new aquarium! It's truly an eye-opener when it comes to shedding light on how diverse our seas really are. The main goal of the aquarium is to be informative in a playful manner - you get to touch the starfish and pick up the crabs (if you're. brave enough). A great way for kids to learn through hands on interactons (and bigger kids like it too...like myself ;-) ). Don't expect shark tunnels, but expect to see with your own eyes the broad variety of anemones, rays, clams, urchins, lobsters, scallop etc. that exist right on the door-step. The staff are super friendly and very knowledgeable!

We Brought some visitors here and came back for a second visit the next day. Very pleasant and enthusiastic staff and a great way to learn about Scotland's native sealife without having to get wet! I love the commitment to release each critter back home after a few weeks. Regular restocking will mean that no two visits will be the same. Great value for money!

The experience you get from this fantastic little aquarium is second to none, and saying that it is hands on is a massive under statement. The staff are all extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and they go out of their way to ensure that your visit is a unique experience that is personal and tailored to you and your family's needs.
The facility itself is very well laid out with various tanks containing a diverse range of local sea creatures and very interesting and informative displays.
The best part about your experience at Mull Aquarium is the hands on touch pool sessions where you can get up close and personal with various child friendly sea creatures, and can get as involved as you like with the session. Children and adults alike are encouraged to ask as many questions as you like and as there is a constant rotation of new specimens, there is something new to learn every day.
I cannot thank the staff of Mull Aquarium enough for all the time and energy they invested into my family over the last week and hopefully they have inspired some of the next generation of marine biologists. Keep up the good work girls, you are FANTASTIC!!

We ventured in here on the opening day as it was raining outside. There was 20% off the entrance fee for the grand opening but even at £4 per person, it was a massive rip-off. It is basically a one room exhibition which took five minutes to get around. I saw more fish in the counter at the fish restraunt! We moved on to the Mull Museum which was free entrance and much, much better. AVOID

Thank you Jacks78 for taking the time to review our aquarium. We are sorry to hear you were disappointed with your visit.

As the size our building indicates we are not a large Aquarium, however we are unique to other aquariums in Europe as we display local marine life which is returned to the sea every 4 weeks, providing a valuable educational experience whilst not impacting our local marine environment.

As a small aquarium we aim to provide a more personable experience with the animals, in both a smaller space and in smaller exhibits for a better viewing experience. As for those fish, they are very seasonal in our local waters and should be more abundant in the summer months, where upon we hope to have more. In the meantime our exhibits are currently showcasing other fascinating and often overlooked species from Feather Stars, Sun Stars, and Octopi to Sea lemons and Rays which members of our community have kindly collected.

As you pointed out the main display is in one room but we do have an adjacent digital cinema room showing wildlife films throughout the day. We have tried to fit as much as possible within the space we have available including: 30 informative and interactive displays; 13 tanks including 3 touch pools and 3 interactive computers with a virtual dive, live feed from the RNLI and Sepa Kids; and a shop and kids activity area.

We do agree the Mull Museum has an excellent display and is well worth a visit. We would love to offer our customers free entry like they do, but unfortunately we are not funded in any way and have to cover our running costs. The Mull Aquarium is part of the Tobermory Harbour Association a not- for- profit Community Company and any profits made from the Aquarium are reinvested in the community.

I never realised what a wonderful variety of life there is under the sea right on my own doorstep. The newly opened Mull Aquarium is a wonderful experience for visitors of all ages, and the Catch and Release system is the only one of its kind in Europe. The sheer variety of sealife is amazing varying from rays to starfish and everything in between. A must see for anyone visiting the Isle of Mull. Highly recommended!
