Four of us (a couple and 2 singles) stayed and found the place delightful. The owners were welcoming, relaxed and helpful and gave us some good advice about the island. The rooms were spotless and the beds were comfortable and the location was great! Beautiful views down to the water and the village below. We wanted a slightly earlier breakfast time and this was no problem for the owners. There was plenty on offer for breakfast including full cooked, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, toast etc. We didnt go hungry! We would stay again and recommend the place without hesitation!

My husband and I have just returned from a week on Mull and stayed here for two nights and wished we had been longer.

When we arrived Swan met us and showed us to our room. It was nicely decorated, spotless and with a great view over the harbour. Our room had a bath and a shower, tv and hospitality tray.

Breakfast was really good and was taken in the breakfast room where we chatted to the other guests; it was a very friendly atmosphere.

Breakfast is ordered the night before, which we have found to be the case in a lot of B&B's.

Alan and Swan were the perfect hosts and were very helpful during our time here.

We paid at the end of our stay; there was no mention of payment when we arrived, although at some places we stopped at they asked for payment in advance (mainly smaller B&B's).

I would definitely recommend the Harbour View and would go back again if we ever return to Tobermory.

Thanks to Alan and Swan for a lovely couple of days.

Room Tip: Room at the front with views over the harbour.

My family and stayed for a week in July and I can quite honestly say it was an absolute charming place with stunning views and warm friendly service. The rooms were spotless and cleaned to perfection each day. We did think it strange to pay cash up front but when we looked into it we found it was standard practice in the area thus was not a bother really. The breakfast was fantastic and served with a great smile from Swan and Alan. Their insight and advice on what to do and where to stay was fabulous and our eleven year old twins had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The mackarel fishing was a great afternoon out and the walking was good.
We will be back as soon as we can.

This is one of the best places we have stayed as a family (including many far more expensive hotels). The location is absolutely perfect - on a terrace above the Tobermory main street, looking down over the harbour. Not only does this give outstanding views but it was high enough that we didn't ever have a midge problem despite staying here in the height of the summer midge season.

From the time that we booked this accommodation to the time that we left, we found Alan and Swan to be extremely friendly, helpful and responsive to our needs. Starting with the room itself: we booked the family suite with a double room interconnecting with a twin room, which has a lovely balcony overlooking the harbour. The rooms were both furnished to a very high standard, and we loved the shower which was enormous and powerful. There were small touches like the LED spotlights in the skirting board leading from the twin room to the bathroom which we particularly appreciated, enabling small people to find their way to the toilet at night without having to leave the bathroom light on. The room came equipped with a kettle and coffee/tea making facilities which were ample for our needs. The breakfast was excellent, and each day we ordered in advance exactly what we wanted for our breakfast the next day. We tried out most of the breakfast options from full cooked breakfast to the light breakfast with yoghurt and fruit. We personally didn't have the Thai breakfast but we saw others having this during our stay. There was always more coffee/tea/toast available on request and we were always asked whether we were ready for our cooked breakfast before it was brought to us.

Payment could be made by cash or cheque. We had forgotten our cheque book and therefore paid in cash by instalments during our stay simply because that suited us. Alan was very flexible and accommodating in this regard, and we paid the last instalment the day before we left. There was no question of having to pay in full on arrival.

I should add that Alan and Swan were very helpful generally throughout our stay, giving us recommendations of places to visit and eat, providing us with an iron and ironing board, directing us to the launderette facilities in Tobermory and so on. Our daughter left behind one of her favourite soft toys, and they posted it back to us immediately, very carefully packaged. It was waiting for us when we returned home. We would unhesitatingly recommend this B&B and would be delighted to return there.

We can't recommand this place at all, because of the strange owner. When we arrived our attention was first drawn to a sign that the whole price has to be paid in advance or at latest 2 hours after arrival... (?)Already 10 minutes after check in when we wanted to go to town to get the money, no one was there to hand over a key or to take any info. When we came back after 2 hours to pay, everything was closed and we were not able to get to our rooms or reach our luggage. We left a message with our telephone number but no reaction! We have to call again and again until late in the evening from the restaurant.... to ask to open the door for us!!! The next morning no "cooked breakfast" was served to us as punishment. What a crazy place!!!! We never have made such an experience before and hopefully will never do again.

We've stayed in many B&B's around the UK but this was our 1st experience of lots of weird things: having to pay on arrival in cash for the full stay; our room being checked before we left by the owners; our cooked breakfasts arriving before we'd been given cutlery or had a chance to have fruit juice or cereal; a broken dishwasher and exercise bike stored in our bedroom; dead mice still in the very pretty garden several days after we'd alerted the owners; other guests being asked to leave after 2 nights due to double booking (surely that should never happen in such a small B&B and, if it does, the new guests are the ones to be relocated); the Thai breakfast on the menu never being available; no offer of a refill of coffee or tea or more toast at breakfast, no ketchup or sauce, no biscuits on the hospitality tray... and it's far from cheap accommodation. I've never come across such an attitude of suspicion or parsimony in any accommodation anywhere in the world and Harbour View B&B was the only disappointment in our otherwise fantastic 5-day stay on Mull. The location is wonderful and the house was clean but we felt so uncomfortable with the experience there that we wouldn't recommend it.

The B&B is in a street above the harbour so has lovely views over the bay and it is easy (if steep, but that is Tobermory) to walk down to the seafront.

Our bedroom was spotlessly clean and had nice furnishings, books and an en suite shower with plenty of hot water (and of course the view:)

Breakfast was very good. As it is a small dining room it is not possible for all guests to dine at once but Alan was happy to let us have a long lie to miss the 9 o'clock rush..

As it is a small B&b they ask guests to leave their rooms between late morning and mid afternoon. That was no problem for us this trip though.

Free wifi was very welcome.

Nicer than many hotels I have stayed in, at £80 per room including breakfast.
