What an amazing place to stay, wished we had had longer. The setting is just amazing, so rugged and remote - it would look amazing in winter. Our welcome was very friendly with excellent advice, couldnt have asked for more. We stayed in Laorin - beautiful views to the north and east of Ardnamurchan peninsular and the Sound of Mull. A huge room well equipped and the ensuite huge as well. The common areas of the castle are great, a library with complimentary whiskey selection and the foyer area so full of atmosphere. You are welcome to walk over the farm and we really enjoyed this.Breakfast in a huge dining room was good with very friendly service. We also enjoyed the family dog - we were missing ours by that stage of our holiday! The drive to Tobermorey was only 10 mins or so and we had an amazing meal at Cafe Fish!!!! ( we had booked this in advance and that was a very wise move as it was packed!)

We only stayed at Glengorm Castle for one night, a brief luxury stopover on a tour of the Highlands and Islands. We were immediately blown away by the stunning location and cosy feel of the castle on a rather gloomy October afternoon. We were warmly welcomed and shown around the communal areas, including roaring fire in the main hall and cosy library with an amazing range of complementary whisky. As an added bonus we were offered a free upgrade and the room was fabulous, clean and full of character. We have stayed in many hotels where rooms lack this and loved the feeling that we were guests in a private home. Breakfast was delicious and the dining room was one of the nicest we have ever eaten breakfast in! We also fell in love with the owners gorgeous dog who amused us very much as we were eating. Despite looking longingly at the locally produced sausages, she was impeccably behaved throughout the meal. A definite favourite - we'd certainly return here for the stunning setting, relaxed feel and great accommodation.

Room Tip: Book a cheaper room for a free upgrade if it's quiet.

Fantastic Victorian mansion/castle in the middle of some of the most beautiful and rugged nature of Northern Mull. Our room was large with amazing views over the Sound of Mull. Large en suite bathroom with nice hot shower. Friendly staff served a delicious hot breakfast in another room with, again, stunning views. In the evening, a wide choice of whiskies is available for free in the lovely library (the owners should get the chimney repaired though, quite smokey). We liked the quite and ability to relax. The hiking options immediately outside are fantastic and on one two-hour walk we were accompanied by the, very sweet, dog of the castle. Late lunch can be had (until 16:15) in an nearby cottage, no dinner options are available, which means one has to travel to (lovely) Tobermory. Recommended eventhough the price per night is quite steep.

This castle is just like in a fairytale. You really feel kind of set back in time in some respects and still it is very alive. The views from the rooms, the sunset which you can follow from the library, the sunset, the bedrooms and the breathtaking location. THe scenery is magnificent. It is easy to go for walks there. Breakfast is great. We just loved it, but should have styed longer.

We are a family of 5 and booked a week in Lephin cottage. The surroundings and the walks are beautiful the cafe is excellent and Tobermory is near. We broke two wine glasses - no problem / no charge!

Breakfast in the castle at the end of the stay was a particular highlight (and at GBP5 ea for the children very modestly priced). Friendly owners - the husband explained to me how they get 12ft of rain a year (!) and his wife (who was cleaning the furniture) talked to us about owning a castle (hard work).

Some of the negative comments seem to relate to a particular period when they were fostering a particular set of children - i.e. it was a one off. We recommend it - we will be back. The Townsends

We own a 5 star gold B and B ourselves and so know what hard work goes into getting it right. This family deserve a big pat on the back for getting a superb balance. The setting is without compare. The beds are perfect. The breakfast was the best I've eaten in the UK and Marjorie went out of her way to accommodate our request to buy our supper from their own coffee shop and eat it in the library with amazing views. To top it all we had the choice if complimentary whisky. I would come back to Mull just to stay here. Thank you
