“Brilliant!”

Thank you very, very much for an amazing trip, we went on the four hour, Wildlife Adventure trip. It was a highlight of my holiday in Mull. We had several great sightings of porpoises, a seal colony with a Mum and pup, a few great northern divers and some white-tailed eagles of Mull. The weather was really nice too and the crew were extremely friendly and kind and answered any questions very well.

“Fantastic Day Out”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

Brilliant day out with Sea Life Surveys. We went on the full day Whalewatch Explorer.Despite the weather being truly horrendous(wet and very windy) Popz,Ewan and Ruth, the wonderful crew/guides on the boat never gave up trying to see a whale. Our patience paid off and we had a fantastic interaction with a Minke whale, whilst gannets flew over head.

“Wonderful Experience”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

We did not have time to do the full day, but did the shorter 4 hour wildlife tour instead. We had a wonderful time learning about the various wildlife around the Isle of Mull, and enjoyed searching the horizon for vaious sea life and birds. Our guide did a fantastic job, along with the Captain, of helping us to spot wildlife and overall it was just a wonderful, relaxing experience. Highly recommend, and if you can go for longer, it would probably be worth it as well!!! Thank you Sea LIfe Surveys for such a wonderful experience!!!

“Knowledgeable crew made this an absolute must”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

We had an absolutely wonderful day with the Sea Life Survey. A friend and I visited Mull with the express intention of trying to see Minke whales, white-tailed sea eagles and otters. We were lucky enough to see two of these during our day with 'Pops' and his crew. We set off in gorgeous sunshine, and passed two white-tailed sea eagles on our way to open water: an adult being mobbed by ravens (shows you the size of these eagles known locally as 'barn doors' due to the breadth of their wings) and a juvenile sat down on a rock. In open water there was a bit of a swell, making whale spotting more challenging, but we saw two Minke whales on our way over to the Cairns of Coll. The crew were fantastic at spotting and pointing out whales, seals and birds (gannets, great skuas, manx shearwaters, a puffin, razorbills and guillemots, kittiwakes, fulmar great black-backed gulls, etc.) although we were all able to contribute to pointing things out after we were shown flipcards of species we'd be likely to see and talked through their main distinguishing features. A Minke whale came up right next to the boat and was rolled over on one side, displaying a white-banded pectoral fin, having a look at us. All 20 something of us on board drew breath collectively as it surfaced. The scenery was beautiful on such a clear day and the crew showed us a map of where we were sailing, such that we could orientate ourselves as the Isles of Rum, Eigg, Muck and even Skye came in to view. The crew really couldn't have been more knowledgeable or informative. We were told about each of the islands, and all our questions were answered. There were books of photos of whale fins that identified regularly-encountered individuals, that were great to have a nose through inbetween sightings, although the view was stunning all day. For lunch we were dropped on to a perfect, white sandy beach in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by tiny islands and stunning kelp forests, making use of the RHIB we'd towed along with us. This was totally unexpected, and made the day really special. Half an hour of eating the food we'd brought with us and gawping at the scenery on an island you could walk across in less than a minute was just magical. On the trip back, the crew trawled for krill and showed us what they'd found using a microscope hooked up to a screen. We didn't see the hoped-for basking sharks, but saw four whales and about a hundred seals, along with hosts of birds. The crew handed round biscuits and tea, and although this trip cost £80 each, I literally wouldn't hesitate to go again. I saw lots and learnt even more.

“Fantastic!”
Reviewed August 24, 2012

This was an unbelievable experience. We treated ourselves to the Seven hour trip, and within minutes had seen a Minke whale, Porpoises and an array of seabirds. We then caught up with about 40 common dolphin and saw basking sharks in the distance! As well as more Minke's. Going ashore was also very special and the complimentary tea went down a treat! The staff were also superb, friendly; helping us see so much more!
