We recently visited the Tobermory Distillery and found the tour to be interesting and informative. Having never been much of a fan of malt whisky I was a little skeptical but rather enjoyed the tasting of the Tobermory and the Ledaig very enjoyable, to the point I've actually changed my opinion on malt!
We had a thirteen year old with us, who didn't find it particularly exciting but what I would say was that during the tasting she wasn't left out and was given a juice whilst we were sampling the whisky, which we thought was a nice little touch! Oh, she also found the 'Shhh, whisky sleeping' signs rather amusing too!!
One negative comment I'd make - sort the 'short film' out. As someone who works in the communications industry, this was appalling. Whilst there was some really beautiful footage of the Isle of Mull, it was cut really badly, the soundtrack and voiceover predictable, the couple cliched and incredibly tacky, and it told little of the business, the processes or the products. It's little wonder many tourists develop jaded opinions of us Scots viewing pieces such as this!
Professional opinion aside, this is supposed to be a marketing/promotional piece that appeals to your mass market but it's dreadful. Burn Stewart - sort it out!
