The prices, at first sight, may seem expensive but the food quality and service are exemplary. Not only was the cooking excellent but the way the food was presented and served was outstanding. As expected seafood predominates on the menu and any seafood lover should try to visit this establishment. We combined our visit with a trip to Iona.
The premises are tastefully decorated yet homely and comfortable and this served to complement the wondrous dining experience. There can be few other places in Scotland where you can enjoy cuisine of this quality and value for money.

We had a great meal , the seafood was perfectly cooked and clearly very fresh , service was excellent and wine and beer prices very fair indeed with the House white being a particular favourite. Not at all stuffy - go for the four courses !

I went to Ninth wave restaruant with my husband. It was the best restuarant in the scotland. The owner, John was so kind and he was a gentleman. We ordered 3 courses. We had a Wantang soup and a pea soup were excellent. The second course was also beautiful and good. The scallop and crab was so fresh. The best is a lobster. It was fabulous. The last was hand made chocolate and coffee. It was good, too. I bought a box of chocolate.

On our trip to Fionnphort we decided to go to Ninth Wave for our wedding anniversary celebrations tonight and we have not been disappointed - it surpassed our expectations. The food was magnificent, a stunning setting and the right ambience for a relaxed and pleasurable meal, sophisticated and tasteful without being pretentious. Worth every penny! On booking the restaurant John asked if our visit was for any particular occasion and I said it was our 33rd wedding anniversary. When we arrived tonight there was a card and chocolates awaiting us - a lovely touch, thank you!

John was quietly present and attentive at all times and that was a welcome change from the usual barrage of 'are you ok, is everything ok' type questions you get in most restaurants. We wished we could have met the talented chef - Carla. You are a food magician well done and thank you. The food was absolutely excellent. We will come back!

Folks - if you don't go to Ninth Wave whilst at Fionnphort, Mull then you've missed a great eating experience.

Ate at Ninth Wave towards the end of last summer, it was the best meal we've ever had. Everything from the warm, fresh bread to the homemade sorbet was to die for. The food is exceptional but there is also a fantastic choice of wines and cocktails, a lovely atmosphere and great service. Can't wait to go back!
