“A Wonderful Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2012

Having seen their website and previous reviews I stayed in Fionnphort overnight in order to have dinner here, and my, was it worth it. I would recommend going via the quarry and old pier if you fancy a bracing walk before dinner! Beautiful food, in my opinion technically up there with Braidwood's in Ayrshire, but with a lighter, modern, more playful touch. Everything is spanking fresh and exquisitely cooked, presentation renders every plate a work of art; you can really taste the love here. Combined with an utterly charming and charismatic host who would be a credit to any restaurant in the world, the Ninth Wave is really an experience not to be missed.

“Jewel in the Crown”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2012

We are lucky enough to have dined at The Ninth Wave on several occasions since it opened in 2009 and have enjoyed watching the restaurant develop over the years and become a firm favourite with visitors and locals alike. The restaurant is becoming a 'destination place to eat' and deservedly so; the food really is superb and the flavours, ingredients and presentation sublime. The Ninth Wave is a unique and very special place to eat and the island and village is incredibly lucky to have it right on their doorstep.

Carla,John and their team are to be commended for their vision, creativity, hard work and determination in making this restaurant succeed in such a remote location and at a time when the global economy crashed so spectacularly.

We have no hesitation in recommending The Ninth Wave - it really is the jewel in the crown.

“4 years on - superlative”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

We first ate at the Ninth Wave in 2008 shortly after opening & it was an absolute must to revisit on our next trip to Mull in September 2012. We were not disappointed! Far from it: the food, atmosphere & welcome were superb. We are delighted that John & Carla have made such a success & would thoroughly recommend their hospitality as an essential high point for any visitors to the Ross of Mull, who have a love of beautifully cooked & presented local food & an elegant & welcoming ambience. Many thanks.

“The Best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2012

Although it was last year we were there I do have have to put in a review of this fantastic restaurant, my partner booked this for my 60th birthday and I was not dissapionted, the greeting was to make you feel special before sitting down to one of the best restaurants I've ever been to the food we had was all local produce and hand caught scallops were a treat, the atmosphere was excellent, the owner and his wife(chef) really made us feel relaxed it was a great night out.
