We first ate at the Ninth Wave in 2008 shortly after opening & it was an absolute must to revisit on our next trip to Mull in September 2012. We were not disappointed! Far from it: the food, atmosphere & welcome were superb. We are delighted that John & Carla have made such a success & would thoroughly recommend their hospitality as an essential high point for any visitors to the Ross of Mull, who have a love of beautifully cooked & presented local food & an elegant & welcoming ambience. Many thanks.

Although it was last year we were there I do have have to put in a review of this fantastic restaurant, my partner booked this for my 60th birthday and I was not dissapionted, the greeting was to make you feel special before sitting down to one of the best restaurants I've ever been to the food we had was all local produce and hand caught scallops were a treat, the atmosphere was excellent, the owner and his wife(chef) really made us feel relaxed it was a great night out.

We came upon this restaurant by chance and had to wait 3 days for a reservation but well worth the wait. The restaurant is remote and the dining room small and intimate while the food is beautifully cooked and presented. The menu depends on what seafood has been caught by John and his friendly serving makes this experience ideal. The food is so good as are the cocktails and the hand made chocolates served with the coffee; congratulations John and Carla.

This is a MUST experience for a visit to the isle of Mull. Reservations are absolutely necessary-no exceptions. It is operated by John and Carla Lamond. John catches the seafood daily and serves it to your table that night. The preparation and presentations by his wife are world class and have rarely been equaled in my dining experience. The wine selection is excellent. The two and half hour dining experience was timeless. John brings a local knowledge of fisheries of the region. The night we ate, he had fresh atlantic mackerel that was caught that morning.
You will not be disappointed-only if you visit Mull and do not experience the Ninth Wave.

We have just been back for the third year running. It is a unique place, serving amazing food which includes homegrown vegetables from the chef's garden and seafood gathered by the host. The welcome is similar to visiting friends. We wish them well because their restaurant is something special.
