This pub was suggested to us by a friend who had stayed a couple of years back. We were touring the West coast of Scotland and stayed here for one night whilst on Mull (we stayed for a further two nights in Tobermory).

The Craignure Inn is a few minutes from the ferry. Some may not like the fact that it's so close (we were concerned about this before we travelled), but this has it's advantages:

We drove off the ferry, turned left and within a few minutes we were having a beer in the bar! This meant that we could relax immediately (no driving to Tobermory or Iona for us tonight!) This gave us the chance to just 'stop' on the first night and get our 'Mull bearings'. We chatted to locals about things to see on Mull and simply had a chance to take in all of our surroundings.

Also, the wash from the ferry stirs up the fish and brings otters in to the bay to feed. A lovely sight to see by just crossing the road from the pub, Mind the traffic though, about one car went past every 10 minutes! ;o)

We arrived early evening and spent the whole evening in and around the pub just people watching and reading newspapers. Thankfully we had arrived quite early as the pub proceeded to get busier as the evening went on. We watched as everyone ordered and ate their food - all saying how delicious it was. The pub was full of friendly staff, locals and punters and of course there were lots of lovely dogs too.

We ate in the bar and had a very very tasty cullen skink. The nicest I have ever tasted. Accompanying the soup was some delicious home made bread - full of seeds and flavour. I recommend this if you go.

The room we stayed in was great. The bed was comfy, the bathroom was large and there was a dressing table along with a tv, hairdrier which all worked well. To top it off we had amazing views out to sea.

The only downside to our stay here was that the breakfast the following morning was not so good. The chef must have been tired from the night before and slept in or perhaps it was just an off day for the staff ! However, this was a small price to pay for such a lovely, relaxing and welcoming stay.

We would definitely go back and stay again.

Nice staff although it was busy holiday time and only 2 staff working bar/ restaurant and one chef, the bar seemed confused and unsure what they were doing, there seemed to be a lot of confusion over things that should have been quite straight forward, and they were mixing up peoples bills etc. Food was great though and the craic was brill, Four of us were up for staying for drinks but the staff were tired, overworked and wanted to go home so they closed the bar :( Nice atmosphere though and we loves the cosy fires :-)

Great traditional pub, everything you want after a day exploring the Isle of Mull.

Our dog was made to feel very welcome & for a friendly, large black ladbrador who likes to stretch out the owners were great about him stealing the floor space in front of the fire.

The 'Belhaven Best' is kept perfectly, the choice of dishes on the menu is plentiful. We ate there a few times during our weeks stay & enjoyed every meal (as did the dog).

A real little gem & easily by far the best Inn on the Isle of Mull!

had a pub lunch on a weekday after a walk with our 2 dogs. The dogs were made very welcome and the barman was friendly. Good location overlooking the sea 5 minute walk from ferry terminal. Standard pub food, no complaints there. Good value. Good beer selection. Lovely fire. Will return

It's a great pub. The bar is small and feels true to its heritage as a drovers inn. They keep great beer and all the food looks lovely. I tried the home made Cullen Skink which was delicious. There's lots of bar stools so we sat at the bar which had the effect that we were quickly engaged in conversation with locals enjoying a drink and keen to share island news. There is a really nice feel about this place.
