Great location just a few minutes from ferry. Went with friends whose bedroom at the front had great views of the sea. Our bedroom at the rear had views of some housing estate. The room was ok, bit dated but clean. The shower was almost impossible to control. The evening meal was a disaster. Both men had a chop that was good but the ladies had a pasta that had no taste at all. A request for parmesan cheese produced grated cheddar/chesire/gloucester who knows on a plate. Both ladies said it was the worst pasta they had ever had. Next evening a very poor fish dish was selected. How do you get poor fish in Mull ? However the breakfast was great ! Good hard working staff

Thank you for your comments on your recent stay with us and i was disappointed that you felt the pasta and fish dishes were not to standard.
I have checked over the past few reviews and they range from superb food to good food to shocking and followed by the comments made in your response.
We have not changed menus or personnel over the period the reviews were highlighted however i need to investigate further all the comments made by our customers.
Thank you for taking the time to make your comments known to me and i apologize for the disappointment that you incurred.

We stayed for one night and although the staff were very friendly and helpfull the hotel room was dark and the bathroom was basic.Worst of all was the food it was like school diners in the 70s,no choice and bland,we have stayed all over scotland and islands and I can honestly say that it was the worst food I have eaten, considering scotland has some of the best food we were very disappointed. We would not reccomend this hotel to any of our friends and family, finally the bed was like a rock.

Thank you for your recent comments. I was obviously shocked to read your comments on our food. With such a strong critisim on this area i would have much preferred to speak to you on a face to face situation rather than through tripadvisor.
You will see from previous comments our food comes out with a very positive outlook thus i find it so difficult to understand why on this occassion we got it so wrong. The menus have not changed in that we offer a choice table d hote menu as well as an a la carte with many of the ingredients locally sourced.
On saying all this we did in your eyes get it terribly wrong and for that i apologise and all your comments will be taken on board and discussed.
My thanks for taking the time to respond

If you want a great base to tour Mull you could not do better. Very well maintained, very clean and handily located.

Service was very efficient and staff friendly. Food is good without being inspiring. Dinner was arranged in 15 minute time slots which might account for some of the previous, rather negative, reviews but we did not find this a problem in any way. There was no sign of pressure to eat up and clear out.

A very good hotel of its type... biggish, chain '70;s build.....

This hotel may have its limitations but they fall well above any reasonable expectations.

The hotel is warm and has a cozy atmosphere. The rooms have fabulous water views. It was just the beginning of the season and the dinner menu was quite limited in choice, but the food was superb. The hotel hallways are adorned with stunning black and white photos that capture life on the island over the last 100 years. They are framed in a modern fashion and are haunting and truly interesting and well worth perusing. Staff were very helpful and friendly. A good spot to rest up and relax.

Thank you so much for your comments on your recent visit with us. The winter season does tend to feel rather long and we do scale down the operation slightly from normal however our main aim as is all year is to make sure the customer enjoys their experience at the hotel and we certainly try and put our heart and soul into that experience.
Again my thanks for taking the time to respond.

A lovely hotel, probably 70's style with the most amazing sea views. Only a few minutes from the Craignure ferry, walkable if you come as a foot passenger. Staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast service was one of the most efficient we have experienced, not the usual long wait for tea and toast you have in most hotels. The spa is really lovely, the only downside is the pool temperature is hit and miss - far too cold when we arrived, but it got better. The hot tub only worked on one day too, but the experience was lovely, sitting outside looking at the lovely views. We didn't have a dinner-inclusive package, but we ate in the bar which was fine. We did go to the pub in Craignure - 10 mins walk - its a nice pub, but I'd not recommend the food - very much Captain Birds Eye! Overall a lovely relaxing weekend in a really nice hotel.

My husband and I booked 2 nights in a self catering bothy secluded on the shores of a beautiful loch but unfortunately couldnt book a 3rd night there so opted to book a night in the Isle of Mull Hotel and Spa. The views were fantastic-overlooking the bay of Craignure. the staff were very very friendly and helpful although we did feel at mealtimes some of the waiters and waitresses were overly efficient a they would whisk away plates before the last mouthful was barely chewed!! (a little rude to be honest!) The room we had was very fresh, decorated very tastefully. The downside of the hotel was we had room 1 wich was the first room off the lobby area and although we couldn't hear anything from the bar area, lots of people had to make there way passed our room and we found the walls between ours and the neighbouring room very thin!! Ours was an upstairs room but after constant banging of doors by 2.30am I'd had enough and made clear my feelings by banging around myself on the floor!! A lovely hotel in an idylic location but we'll definately stick to secluded self catering accomodation!

Thank you for your constructive views on your recent stay with us. We are always happy to listen to our customers thoughts on their stay with us.
The point on the restaurant staff rushing you will certainly be taken on board and will be discussed with the relivant staff. On the bedroom situation i am afraid on a building over 30 years there will be some distractions regards movement in the corridors and as you rightly say your room was located right next to the main thorough way of all the bedrooms on the same floor as yourself. I am certainly going to check and see if we can reduce the noise however this is one of our main fire doors into the bedroom corridors so we cannt tamper with unless it complies with all the regulation required.
Thank you for taking the time to respond to your stay with us.

Stayed at the hotel for two nights having picked up a good rate via laterooms.com. On arrival we were given a very warm and friendly reception, and the room we were allocated was on the ground floor with a wonderful view of the bay. The room was quite basic but comfortable and cosy, no complaints. We ate in the hotel on the first night which on reflection I would not recommend, the food itself was very hit and miss, and whilst the service was efficient and brusque it was actually far too rushed, the dining room was almost empty but we were whizzed through our three courses in under an hour, I had to ask for a break after our main meal before choosing desserts and was eyed suspiciously! Not relaxing at all. Having said that the breakfast on offer is very good, so not sure what was going on in the kitchen. Would recommed the local Craignure Inn for delicious home cooked food.

The real bonus of this hotel is the Spa facilities, a great pool, sauna and steam room and I managed to get a wonderful massage at short notice (in season this would be impossible without booking I'd guess).

Would recommend as a comfortable base for coming back to after a days exploring the island, which we found to be a beautiful place.
