We have just spent 3 nights at this hotel and can only say it was excellent, the 6 course taster dinner menu was fabulous, different menu every night, cooked to perfection and served by very efficient and hard working staff. We were offered transport to/from ferry and had our Sunday newspapers hand delivered by the manager. Used the pool and steam room although found Spa treatments a bit expensive. Thanks also for the ceilidh on Saturday evening provide by a Gaelic choirs association. Only down side was our room, clean, tidy and warm, but it was next to hotel patio which meant closing curtains when anyone was using patio for smoking etc also we could hear every word from room above. Nevertheless we had almost enjoyable stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Mull.

All the winter staff were working above and beyond, there were quite a few rooms had been let on our stay ,there were very few staff, but you would never have noticed, service was quick and efficient. The food on the bar menu, which we used both evenings, was varied, well presented and very tasty with generous portions.Breakfast was superb, self service with plenty of choice from porridge,to full English. tea coffee toast and a selection of jams and marmalade. The pool and pool area was spacious and clean with, again, attentive staff..full use was made of the Steam-room,Sauna and out door Jacuzzi. All of which were excellent.Over all cleanliness of the hotel was very good, only complaint, they really do need to invest in some new mattresses, as ours had crippled us by the morning.
If you are thinking of leaving your car on the mainland....DONT !...the bus service in the winter months is rubbish...last bus from Tobermory was 16:45...and if you miss that, its around £40,back to the hotel.

Stayed here on business for two nights. Very comfortable room and lounge. Ate dinner in the bar both nights and food was lovely. Only disappointed was the WiFi was only available in the lounge, but two nights without internet isnt a huge loss!

Breakfast was lovely and quickly served, which was helpful with having to catch early ferries. Staff friendly and helpful.

We managed to get an online offer for the two nights we stayed, which meant we could stay within our budget. During peak time I think it may be a bit expensive to stay.

Location is excellent - we ended up no more than half an hour drive from everywhere we needed to be, which was ideal.

Room Tip: Recommend trying the cinnamon french toast for breakfast - delicious!

I have always tried to be positive when completing these reviews and for that reason I have been putting off this review. The positives first. It's on Mull which has great wildlife. It's on a good location close to the ferry port. The pool was ok as was the food. Service in the restaurant was very good. View from the room was probably great if you could see through the condensation which streamed down the windows. Room was so sixties that I expected nylon sheets - tired and dated.

The worse feature was the Reception staff who were absolutely terrible. No entry to the rooms until 15.00 which was bizarre as the hotel had booked us on a ferry which arrived significantly earlier.

If you want to go to Mull find another hotel or go self catering! Alternatively, go to the Auchrannie in Arran and see how it should be done.

Room Tip: Go elsewhere

Hello. I am sorry that any part of your stay with us was not to your satisfaction. The design of the building, in line with planning restraints for the island, does not have a wow kerb appeal, but I believe our interior is warm and welcoming and the rooms are to a good standard.
Check in time is 3pm, as with most hotels, although we are more than happy for guests to arrive earlier than this and use the hotels Leisure facilities. I am sorry if this was a disappointment to you. Sad you feel you would not return, . Regards Neal Goldsmith

We had been here about 3 years before, and we knew exactly what we were getting in February on Mull - a quiet relaxing break in a good gym and spa - but I was here for the OUTDOOR HOTTUB!

The staff were, as usual, friendly and efficient.

We booked for bed and breakfast only, planning on eating on a budget in the bar, as it is good food and a nice area.

I was in for a disappointment when we discovered the hot tub was out of action, as the lid had blown off during the day but the gym and the sauna and the pool were terrific.

There was a dinner dance on, and we were given a special 3 course menu for 19.95 per person - which we took, although we were only after one course really. The waiter was a bit flustered, but he tried his hardest, forgetting our wine but he was so nice we just reminded him and he came with it immediately. Lovely food.

Breakfast the following day was superb.

When we got back the next evening, our room had not been cleaned, but the staff cleaned it when we were eating, from the bar this time. I was worried that we would be the only people eating in the bar, but a few other people had the same idea as us, as the a la carte is quite expensive! I had burger, and Claire had salmon, which was lovely.

We retired to the room with a sea view to watch saturday night tv (casualty!) and some baileys coffees and crisps! this was all we needed after a work out in the gym and sauna.

Will be back again, probably in February again for a nice, relaxing break....

Paul

HI and thanks for taking the time to write and post your review. So sorry the Hot tub was out during your visit, we had severe storms and one of the many issues this caused was the Hot Tub problem. I am pleased you enjoyed the food and service and we hope you will visit again in the future. regards Neal Goldsmith
