“Quirky charm and great hosts”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

First point to make - the one double bedroom (reasonable size, comfortable and warm) is directly off Peter & Janet's lounge, and you have to walk through the lounge to get to your private bathroom. That may not be to everyone's taste.
Second point to make - Peter and Janet are the most welcoming hosts and it is precisely the fact that you are staying WITH them that gives the whole experience a quirkish charm.
Breakfasts are excellent, especially as you can sit and talk to Peter about your plans for the day whilst he prepares your cooked eggs, bacon, etc., and make use of his excellent knowledge of the wildlife on the island.
The B&B is only a short walk from Craignure where food is available at the Craignure Inn (but take a torch in winter as the road is unlit).
If you are willing to accept that you are being invited into someone's home (as opposed to just staying in a room attached to their house) and your willing to engage with your hosts, then you will have a really enjoyable stay.
Oh, just a warning to anyone allergic to cats; there are three of them!

We stayed here for one night during Christmas break and Pete & Jan couldn't do enough for us. Even took us down to the local pub for a drink. Wonderful homely atmosphere, excellent food and lovely warm cosy room with comfortable bed.

First class, don't pass this one by!!

This is a very homely and cosy accomodation not far from the ferry port in Craignure.
There is one double room but I must say that the private bathroom is not ensuite and may dissapoint some clients. Janet provided dressing gowns and it was no problem for us.
Janet and Peter Hall make us very welcome and were most helpfull with any advice we needed.
Breakfast was superb and poached eggs poaced to perfection. There was a very good choice and cooked by Pete .
Pete also runs a Wildlife trip which we enjoyed too. We were able to view wildlife which we would probably not have otherwise spotted.

Room Tip: There is only one room so book in advance.

A really friendly place to stay where you instantly become a member of the family. We've been back a few times and this is a great base for exploring the beautiful Isle of Mull. Big hearty breakfasts, a lovely clean room with wild birds just outside the window and your own private bathroom all adds up to pretty perfect for us. If you like wildlife and want to see what Mull has to offer then it gets better still as the B&Bers also run wildlife tours of the island. We've seen Otters, Sea Eagles and Red Deer amongst a host of other things. All in all a great place to stay that comes highly recommended.

Perfectly located.
Otherwise it's awful.
From the endless amounts of rules and regulations written in the tiny 'double' room, to the attitude of the hostess, to the fact that you have to walk through the owners' breakfast area and lounge to reach the bathroom!!!
Ridiculous!
Sorry but the bungalow is not suitable for b and b.
There is much better available nearby.

This is an excellent little Bed & Breakfast ('little' because it only has one guest room with one double bed). This does mean that only 1 'couple' can stay there at any one time but if you fit into that category, you would have very comfortable accomodation with your own separate bathroom and use of the lounge. The bedroom has TV/Video/DVD equipment and tea/coffee making facilities.
The B&B is handily placed about 1/2 mile from the ferry terminal at Craignure, meaning that this can be reached on foot in about 10 minutes and means that trips to Oban and the mainland are always easy.
Pete Hall, the co-owner with his wife Janet will cook breakfast and give you a wide choice of pretty much anything you want to eat, choices being made very informally. The whole atmosphere of the place is very informal, something that adds to the charm and makes for a relaxing stay.
The highlight of any stay here would be to go on a wildlife trip with Pete Hall. The Isle of Mull has a rich wildlife (Otters, Sea-Eagles, Golden Eagles, Buzzards, Kestrels and other birds of prey and scores of 'non-prey' species as well as dolphins/porpoises and red deer). Pete is very knowledgeable, knows the haunts of many of these wildlife species and is a good 'spotter'. The tours cost £33.00 but last most of the day (typically 10.30am to 5.00pm but this is flexible) and include a packed lunch, prepared by Pete, again with excellent flexibility in terms of catering for different tastes. Such a tour would carry a 'not to be missed' label.
