We stayed here in late May and had the advantage of the best weather, ever. However, this could not disguise the average standard of the room. I expect that the poorly fitting window, the tired decor and stark bathroom would be very different on a cold, dark windswept night. ( i.e. normal Stornoway weather!)
On the other hand, I cannot praise the staff enough. Every person we met was charming, polite, helpful and smiled. Equally, the food was excellent too. Whether it was breakfast, lunch or dinner, it was fit for a King, served hot and quickly.
So, in summary, not a bad place to stay at reasonable cost for what you get which could be a 4* establishment if it had some investment in the accommodation.More
