Jannel B and B has everything you would want want or need from a B and B and I would definitely return here. I felt really glad to have chanced upon this place. My room was really comfortable and peaceful, fantastic bed and it was a really relaxing place to be The owners are really kind and helpful and take a real interest in the people that are staying with them which is lovely whilst at the same time letting you be independent and get on with what you're doing. The breaKfasts are great, powerful shower, very clean room and all the information you need available like maps and bus timetables etc. Nice chats over breakfast with other guests and nothing felt like too much effort for Maureen and Paul. Compared to other B and Bs in Stornoway the owners of Jannel were really helpful and positive from the start when I was making enquiries and booking. This was a really good sign of the standard of service you get when you stay. A home from home, I was sad to leave!

Stayed for 3 nights on recent trip to the Outer Hebrides. We were made extremely welcome by Maureen, Paul and Ruby.
We had a small dog with us, and nothing was too much trouble, including treats for the pooch!
The rooms are to a very high standard and as other reviewers have noted include a much appreciated cafetiere, perfect!
With many eateries on the island closed on a Sunday, we had a lovely pack lunch prepared for us.
Paul's breakfasts are legendary. 3 of us stayed, we each had separate rooms, and each room was excellent.
The location is literally minutes from the ferry terminal, but situated in a lovely residential road.
Great shower too! We will definitely stay again when we are next visiting the islands. I can't recommend the place enough.
We booked based on the reviews we had read, and we could find absolutely nothing to fault. Highly recommended. Can't wait to book nextbtrip

A very nice place and warm welcome. Beds are very comfortable and breakfast is very good.
A good place for hikers, bikers, or just like us, french pilots discovering The Outer Hébrides from the air !

We stayed here one night in early June. If you are visiting Stornoway this is a great place - it's situated on a quiet street, the beds are excellent, wifi freely available, cafetiere & filter coffee in your room (as well as the usual others), spotlessly clean, light & airy and the hosts are friendly/welcoming. Breakfast excellent (try the black pudding, top notch). If you are in town looking for a place to eat, we liked the Thai restaurant near the cop shop.

After a five minute drive from the ferry port we were at Jannel. Situated in a quiet residential street at the bottom of a hill where a short walk afforded stunning views.
Greeted by Maureen, Paul and Ruby and if you have read the other reviews I can only agree that they are friendly and helpful and genuinly interested in what we wanted to do on the island.
Maureen was helpful in emailing information to me before we even arrived and Paul went out of his way to book us a table at a restuarant for 2 evening meals (not easy as tables get booked up quickly in Stornaway!) Breakfast was excellent, (even a sausage for the dog) as were the bedrooms, the bed itself 10/10! And all exceptionally clean.
We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again!

A really fantastic stay. Paul, Maureen & Ruby were welcoming, helpful and friendly, yet not intrusive. Jannel is a 5 min easy walk into Stornoway centre. A very quiet location with the only sounds being the birds tweeting every morning to wake us up, Jannel offers a lovely morning walk to the war memorial with outstanding views over Stornoway just around the corner. Breakfast every day was lovely with plenty of options, our room was more than comfortable and beautifully decorated. The B&B throughout is perfectly clean yet homely. Maureen & Paul could not be more helpful or supportive. They put up with our wee dog Biscuit whilst we ran a half marathon in Stornoway for a few hours and even let us use the machine to wash our running gear - these are the things that matter so much and make the stay complete and perfect. We only wish Stornoway was nearer so we could go back again soon. A fantastic dog friendly place that does not relegate visitors with dogs to a stinky room at the back! No sign of doggie visitors of the past, and a sausage each morning for our hound Biscuit! This is a really great place to stay.

What can I say that hasn't already been said about "Jannel", Maureen, Paul and their lovely baby "Ruby" ? Visiting from Ireland with my son who was attending for interview at Western Isles Hospital we received a warm welcome. Both Maureen & Paul run a great B&B - warm, impeccably clean. and spacious. They did everything possible to make our stay there enjoyable. When we enquired about getting some boarding passes printed Maureen had them donein a flash. A call to Maureen when my son realised that he had left without his wallet / passport and Paul drove to the airport to deliver both personally! Amazing service from a couple who demonstrate a genuine interest in people and run an excellent friendly business. I would have liked to stay longer but they were heavily booked - Jannel "The Place to stay ..... in Stornoway" Next time I will book well in advance!
