Lovely setting near the sea. Our room had one of the best beds on the whole trip. 95% of the beds we slept on were firm to very firm (hard to very hard) and this one was a nice medium. From our window at night we could see the lighthouse at the top of the island. The light was faint but we could see it blink across our wall.

We had both breakfast and dinner here, and they both were wonderful.

I took an early morning walk down to the beach. So beautiful. If you stay here, you must do this!

Galson Farm is also the local post office, so you can buy stamps and post letters home. They also have a few pieces of art done by local artist for sale. The prices are good.

Stayed two nights in bunkhouse in company of other solo travelers, and the location could not have been better. The bunkhouse was clean, cozy, warm, friendly. The farm itself is gorgeous and the sea is just down the way, sunsets are a step away from the door. Very highly recommended for bunkhouse element. Did not stay in B&B.

Simply put, you need to GO to Galson Farm. It takes some time and motivation to get to the Outer Hebrides, at least if you are not in the near vicinity, but it is beyond well worth it. The hosts, David and Hazel, are just wonderful people. The farmhouse was comfortable, clean, quiet, and, well, everything we had hoped it would be. Thank you to our hosts and hope to see you again!

Wonderful setting by the sea and accommodation in interesting house bursting with pictures and ceramics. Post Office in reception - you don't get that everywhere! Two wonderful sitting rooms and proprietors who are on hand to chat and are the essence of hospitality. Gargantuan breakfasts cooked by Dave and updates daily on the lambing. My father is 88 and every effort was made to make him comfortable. He has been visiting Lewis since 1942 and I have for 61 years and this is as good as any accommodation on the island - believe us. Lewis is not Monte Carlo - pitch your expectations realistically and be prepared to be very pleasantly surprised and dont blame the farm for the weather!!

My wife and I spent two nights at Galson Farm in late August. We could not fault the standard of accomodation and service. David and Hazel looked after us superbly and we enjoyed their excellent dinner on both nights. They work very hard, with careful attention to detail, to make staying there a very enjoyable and comfortable experience. Whilst we were there we met a very nice couple who were on their fourth visit and were staying for over a week, which is a good recommendation in itself.

David and Hazel (not forgetting Jackson the Labrador) - thank you for looking after us so well.

Even though North Lewis is well worth a visit (with Butt of Lewis, Port of Ness, etc.) and even though the towns/villages up there form - surprisingly - one of the largest settlements we met on our tour through the Outer Hebrides, there are rather few B&Bs up there.

But there are some, and "Galson Farm" must be one of the best, not just in the region but on all the Outer Hebrides.

OK, you can't get lost in the room, but in which B&B room can you? And the space is very well used. And the bathroom was perfect.

And the bacon! The bacon alone would be reason enough to go there again.

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely b&b. Our room was homely, with an enormous bed and a nice big bathroom. We had a great breakfast with local farm produce, and after took a stroll down to the sea, which is seconds away. Unfortunately we missed the otters who live down there, but we did see Brue, the enormous very friendly horse and his donkey pal.
David and Hazel were lovely, as was their energetic lab, Jackson. A very nice place to stay.
