“The Greatest Distillery in the Universe !”
Reviewed May 4, 2010

Not knowing that Ardbeg was on Trip advisor here goes my 2009 review.
Nearly a year ago I visited Ardbeg for the 6th time in 9 years, my friends and I could not have had a better day. We were baking in the sun from early morning and whilst the ladies had fun with the mini Highland Games we lads were enjoying the best master-class ever. Manager Michael Heads introduced us to some of the finest Ardbeg ever to be bottled. Till late in the afternoon we enjoyed loads of drams whilst sitting / laying in the sun overlooking the calm Ardbeg bay. Looking forward to be back next year.

“Great Experience For Whisky Lovers”
Reviewed April 29, 2010

We went on one of the hour long tours. What's great about it is that you get to meet the staff who make the whisky. My boyfriend is the whisky fan and that's why we went to Islay in the first place. He was thrilled to visit the place his whisky is made. The tour took us through the whole process of whisky making with a few anecdotes along the way. The staff you meet are friendly and open to picture taking which was great for a whisky geek like my other half. Included in the tour is a wee taster of the whiskies they make there. Not my cup of tea but the other half loved it. The distillery also has a shop with a great range of gifts, not just the whisky itself but clothing, books and other wee bits and pieces. We stayed for lunch as recommended by our guesthouse manager and we weren't disappointed! Great sized portions and a good range of stuff for such a small place. Staff couldn't do enough for us. The buildings outside are well kept and the whole place is next tothe sea so we got a few snaps in there too. A nice afternoon out.

“Ardbeg - very professional place”
Reviewed June 16, 2009

We dropped by Ardbeg and comparing it with the other distilleries, this is a very professional place, with a huge sales place and a smallish restaurant / bar attached.
service was good and we conducted a good tasting.

“Amazing Ardbeg 5*****”
Reviewed April 26, 2009

Please please go to Ardbeg Distillery, you will love it, my partner and i both loved it...
The staff are very friendly, we actually did not do the tour, but will go back one day.. We went to the distillery and had a ball, got to ask about all the different types of ardbeg whisky that they produce, and got to try some of the recent whisky that they had made, but was not on sale on there website, which was a really nice touch. The food in the cafe is brilliant would really recommend there clootie dumpling, followed the recipe also on there website, and made to perfection...The people at ardbeg are lovely, you will not be disappointed, i can assure you....although you may come out a little tipsy ha ha slainte x
