This is a small first class B&B. Recently restored directly on the beach in Port Ellen a short walk from the Kennacraigh ferry. While the room was smallish, the facilities were superb. Awesome shower with top quality fixtures... as well as the convenient kitchen made aour stay on Islay one on the most memorable in out 3 week UK visit. Convenient to the Laphroig, Lagavulin, and Ardbeg distilleries too.Highly recommend it!

We took over the available accommodation - two adults and three children. Worked really well. The under-floor heating and top notch showers were home from home! Great accommodation matching the unbeatable island with its beaches, wildlfe and whiskey!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Lodge. The room was clean, modern and very comfortable. I particularly enjoyed the large, powerful shower - perfect for washing away the previous day's excesses. The location could not be better. It's close to the port, the beach and several great distilleries. I heartily recommend a stay at The Lodge, and on Islay, in general, to anyone. I'll certainly be back.

Just returned after a week staying at The Lodge in Port Ellen, self-catering and self-inflicting some slow starts in the mornings due to the Highland (island) mist which seems to develop after partaking samples of the local products too enthusiasticly perhaps. The Lodge is perfectly positioned for a slow recovery, an excellent view across the bay and loads of fresh air to get ones system in gear.
Walking in the area is wonderful, birds seem to ignore you as they go about their duties and the scenery makes such a change from city skylines.
The lodge is very well fitted out, everything you could need and more. Makes for a very comfortable stay. My wife noted how clean it all was, which is a plus in anyones book. :)
I would recommend it to anyone. Enjoy. :)

We have recently visited The Lodge in Port Ellen this month, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! It was clean and modern and very central!
The views are just wonderful and looking out of my window to see the beach was beautiful.

A very relaxing break and staying in The Lodge made it even more enjoyable.

We also visited the Islay Hotel for a meal which was brilliant- the seafood is so fresh and extremely tasty.

I will definitely be returning for a stay at The Lodge in the near future

We had a wonderful stay at The Lodge this summer. It's right in Port Ellen but doesn't feel too on top of the ferry port, we had a very picturesque view of the coast from our bedroom window. Walking distance to a great locals pub with many a whisky on tap, and two hotels for evening grub. Plus three of the island's best distilleries (Laphroiag, Lagavulin and Ardbeg) are a short distance up the road. We drove but you could easily walk or cycle.

The Lodge itself has obviously been renovated very recently and the result is a modern, welcoming space. The rooms are a decent size with very swanky ensuite bathrooms. Breakfast is continental and waiting in the fridge - may sound a bit odd but actually worked very well. And there was unlimited bread, coffee and tea that you could help yourself to all day. Lots of info there about the island too.

All in all a lovely stay and we would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you!
