We didn't expect to find an Indian restaurant in single malt country but we're glad we called in. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The poppadoms came with an unusual choice if relishes, really nice. Both starters and mains were of a high quality. The lamb was tender, melt in the mouth. Bring your own booze. Highly recommended.

We were searching for this place and when we found it, we weren't sure if we really want to go for it as it looks rather less inviting from the outside.
Not many affordable choices in Port Ellen and it was quite late so we finally decided to go in,....even less convinced when we looked at the 70s shabby chic interior. The place was quite busy and therefore it could not be too bad, so we ordered. What a surprise, fantastic pickles and the main dishes had reasonably authentic Indian taste. Prices rather on the cheap end
and the friendly & quick service made it a pleasant dinner.
Another perfect example that the Chef in the kitchen makes a good place,to eat, not necessarily the decorator. Would go there again, for sure.

Glad had we had take away as the main restaurant is strange and looks more like an old cafe from the 70s!

However the food was fantastic and everything was made to order.

Totally recommend the take away, and if they spent a few quid on the front of house it could be busy every night inside... Oh and get a licence, it's not difficult or expensive!

Nothing special from this little hole-in-the-wall, which probably does more takeout business than dining in. But the food is plentiful and Islay doesn't have a lot of dining options.

As many other reviews have highlighted, the inside of this little gem is bizarre to say the least. It may look a little bit like a dated greasy spoon, but the food is fantastic, service is great and i'd highly recommend eating there. So good in fact that we went back two nights in a row!
