We chose this location because of its proximity to Bruichladdich, my favorite Islay distillery, and couldn't have been happier. The Annexe itself is beautiful with comfortable furnishings in a cozy, welcoming space, and an incredible, uninterrupted view all the way to the water. Quiet, charming, isolated -- all things that turned our stay from a quick jaunt to Islay into a romantic getaway. The kitchen is well furnished, and there are excellent restaurants in Port Charlotte itself, while the rest of the island and distilleries are an easy drive away. All in all, it was a delightful stay which we hope to repeat in the future.
I've been going to Islay for about 60 years and I think the views from the annexe are possibly unbeatable. The property is set slightly out of port Charlotte in an elevated position to take maximum advantage of the views. Its ideal for a single person or a couple. Good size for 2 with a large bedroom upstairs. Well furnished and equipped and some lovely finishing touches from Maria, the owner, who lives in the adjoining property. A lovely find, enjoy
Well situated for touring the island with handy shop and pub. Be prepared for a surprise inside the property as the tastefully appointed rooms will inspire.
A very memorable experience!
This really is a lovely place to stay, have been many times-has everything that you need, and is VERY clean. The accommodation is boosted by the most amazing view-quite intoxicating-over Loch Indaal, watching the sun, and whatever else comes along! So much wildlife to see and just so relaxing.
A beautiful annexe situated a short walk from the main street in Islay. Modern furnishings throughout with magnificent views of the island. Definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Islay.
Clean and tidy, beautifully furnished and decorated annexe. We had everything we needed here. The location is excellent, very peaceful place in the middle of beautiful nature. Still it's just a short drive to a local shop and great restaurants and pubs.
We love the nature and sceneries on Islay, and we could really enjoy it from the Annexe already. We saw deers, hares and even a White-taled eagle had it's resting stone on the field nearby. A couple of choughs were visiting the back yard almost every day. Maria is very kind and helpful. We have stayed here twice and really enjoyed our stay.
The house is beautifully furnished to a very high standard and is equipped with everything you could possibly need. Situated in a lovely location on the outskirts of Port Charlotte, arguably one of the prettiest villages on Islay. Maria the owner could not be more helpful, I'm already planning to book again!
Thanks again Maria for allowing us to stay in your lovely Annexe.
