If you’re looking for a quiet little island hideaway, don’t stay here. This is not the sort of place where you’re shown to your room and left in peace. The accommodation’s fine and the free wi-fi is excellent, but the place does have some peculiarities. Make sure you request that your stuff not be moved about when the room is serviced, otherwise you’ll be searching for your things. The landlady she seems to have aspirations as a children’s television presenter, which I found very irritating. And you can’t pay by card.
Don’t eat here. The food’s ok, but there is no choice. And you need to provide your own wine. You’ll have a much nicer meal at the Harbour Inn in Bowmore. Or you can walk down to the Ballygrant Inn, where the food is similar but you have a full menu to choose from, can pick where you sit at the table, and don’t have to share your table with strangers. Nor are you stuck for 30 minutes making pre-dinner conversation with other guests.
Overall, I'd only recommend you stay here if you're one of those people who especially likes to spend their holiday hearing the opinions of new acquaintances.
